Hey I love the little dude, but he's the group's fall guy. It's not like he's got any other talents to help the others out.
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

It's the last frame that really does it for me. I'm really proud of that shot of Castor getting an arrow to the ass.

I switched hand-drawn artwork because there was only so much I could do with sprites. There were no facial expressions, limited movement options (no sitting or jumping gifs) and watching little gifs attack each other is rather boring (and thus few fights). I have a lot more freedom if I draw the comic myself (this latest issue is a good example of the stuff I can do with hand-drawn art that I couldn't do with sprites).

Too bad, Kay...
...*sniff!* but I do find the sprites cute, and very challenging nonetheless... I think, the one thing that added to DCI's charm was the creative and resourceful way you used those sprites... maybe, when you design your plot you could figure out which ep would be sprite ed or cartoon ed.
But then again that's just my suggestion.

The virtue of self sacrifice is the lie perpetuated by the weak to enslave the strong
But the old sprites gave a feeling of nostalgia to BG fans. And beyond that something to go back to when the series has retired. It added a whole different element beyond the funny lines. It was something that we could build our imaginations with with the very sprites that we grew up with and loved from the BG series. We seeked this nostalgia and world in your comic with those sprites, and now that its gone, then that world is no more.
That said, its still a cool comic
My 2 cents.

“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

Maybe that is the difference...I am a fan for the sake of the comic, and I see it as an extension of Kayless's talent. I am not a BG player, so that aspect holds no meaning for me

I would recommand a mixture like in nr.70
Wow. You actually liked issue 70? Everybody else thought it was too eclectic. Nice to know somebody enjoyed the sprite/hand-drawn combo.

I liked the sprites too. Originally I was only going to do a few issues hand-drawn (the crew gets hit by a Wild Surge that makes them hand-drawn instead of sprites) but the files are much smaller than a sprite-generated issue (a big plus). It's also more unique, since there are a ton of sprite comics out there (though no others based on the BG games that I know of). Who knows what the future may hold. Sprites were a lot faster to work with, at the very least.

Well just go and depress the hell out of me why don't you. J/K I love gifs and sprites and it's great to go back to a beloved old game and continue to get some use out of it. Hopefully the new DCI at least carries the spirit of the old.

Thank you. But it's the kobolds who deserve the real credit.

Wow...those kobolds have them mad skillz goin on. It must have been difficult for them to make the transition from sprite to hand drawn...them having to actually use discipline to draw, rather then slap together a few sprites.Originally posted by Kayless

Hey, you get can get a bear to ride a motorcycle if you shove a cattle prod far enough up it's ass. The same applies to kobolds and hand-drawn art.
Yikes, I just checked my E-Mail and got million little warnings that my private messages were filled up.
