"When The Levee Breaks"

If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break, [X2]
When The Levee Breaks I'll have no place to stay.

Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan, [X2]
Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home,
Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well.

Don't it make you feel bad
When you're tryin' to find your way home,
You don't know which way to go?
If you're goin' down South
They go no work to do,
If you don't know about Chicago.

Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
Now, cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move.

All last night sat on the levee and moaned, [X2]
Thinkin' about me baby and my happy home.
Going, going to Chicago... Going to Chicago... Sorry but I can't take you...
Going down... going down now... going down....
Screamming!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is something a little different by Queen. :)
STAYING POWER by QUEEN (written by FREDDIE MERCURY)

Let me show it to you, yeah

See what I got, I got a hell of a lot
Tell me what you feel
Is it real is it real?
You know I got what it takes
And I can take a lot
Did you hear the last call, baby?

You and me got staying power, yeah!
You and me we got staying power
Staying power (I got it, I got it)

I wonder when we're gonna make it
I wonder when we're gonna shake it
Rock me baby, rock me
C'mon, you can shock me
Let's catch on to the groove
Make it move, make it move
You know how to shake that thing
We'll work it, work it, work it
You and I can play ball, baby

You and me, got staying power, yeah
You and me, we got staying power

I wonder when we're gonna make it
I wonder when we're gonna shake it
Fire down below, I'm just a regular dynamo
Want some smooth company?
Don't lose control, just hang on out with me
Got to get to know each other
But we got plenty of time
Did you hear the last call, baby?

You and me, got staying power yeah
You and me, we got staying power

Power, power, power

I wonder when we're gonna stick it
I wonder when we're gonna trick it
Blow, baby, blow, let's get down and go go
Get yourself in the mood
Got to give a little bit of attitude
Baby, don't you crash
Let just trash, trash, trash
Did you hear the last call baby?

You and me, got staying power yeah
You and me, we got staying power

(I like it) Staying power
Yeah, yeah
Gotcha

Tangerine - Led Zeppelin

Measuring a summer's day,
I only finds it slips away to grey,
The hours, they bring me pain.

Tangerine, Tangerine,
Living reflection from a dream;
I was her love, she was my queen,
And now a thousand years between.

Thinking how it used to be,
Does she still remember times like these
To think of us again?
And I do.

West End Riot
By Prisoner Of Society

Theres a kid who was born and was raised in the West
Theres a kid from the East
Who never really fit in with the rest
Every week they would meet in the street w/ their friends
With the guns that they made and the caps that they stole
They would fight to the death

This time
We'll have victory
Last time
Ended in defeat
Our town becomes a battleground, battleground
Battleground!

West End Riot (Riot!)
West End Riot (Riot!)
We'll be here next Saturday with our guns and our heads held high
So listen up boys you'd better not cry this time

See a bum on the street that you think you recognize
Young kid never looked so bad when he was only 4ft high
Six O'Clock running home I don't wanna be late
Another Saturday of sun and war
Shared with our mates

Boys will be boys playing up and making lots of noise
Never used to talk about the future
Never thought that we'd have to care
So WEST END RIOT!!!

Theres a man who born in the west workin' at a factory
Theres a man from the east who now runs the whole company
How they've grown on their own not like the kids they used to be
Saturdays of sun and war just fond memories

This plays on the opening trailer to my favorite racing game ever, World Of Outlaws Sprint Car Racing, 2002.

When the Sprints line up 4 abreast, it sends chills down my spine.

*nods* That's how I heard of the song -- I got Queen On Fire a few days ago. :D It's awesome! I'm completely and hopelessly addicted to it now. :( :D

Here's another one from Live At The Bowl. Apologies for any errors in the lyrics...

ACTION THIS DAY by QUEEN (written by ROGER TAYLOR)

Action

This street, honey, is a mean street
Living in this street, honey, needs a mean streak
We've got criminals living in this street
But there's a heart beatin' pulse
That keeps on pumpin'
Like a juke box playing the same dead record
Or a radio in the corner keeps blaring
I got a feeling this world is using me!

This town, honey, is a dead town
Living in this town, honey, is a let down
Coming to this town, honey, is a show down
But there's a heart beat pulse
That keeps on pumpin'
Some sunshine ray
Through a crack in the shutter
Or a sight of a light at the end of a tunnel
Still there's a feeling this world is using me!

Action this day!
Action this night!
Oh we've gotta learn to love, to live
You can't say it ain't right
Action this day!
Action this night!
Oh you've got the power, you've got the power
You've got the power to love, to live
You can't say it ain't right

Your mind, honey, is a bleak place
Living in your minds, living in a blank space
Your mind is coming from a rat race
But there's a heart beat pulse
That keeps on pumpin'
Like a juke box playing the same dead record
Or a radio in the corner keeps blaring
I got a feeling that just won't quit
This world is using me!

Action this day!
Action this night!
Oh we've gotta learn to love, to live
We can't say it ain't right
Action this day!
Action this night!
Oh you've got the power, you've got the power
You've got the power to love, to live
You can't say it ain't right

Action!
Action this day!
Action this day!
Action!
Action this day!
Action this day!
Living in the street
Action!

To keep the streak going . . .

I LOVE this song. Surprise, surprise. :D :D

Love Of My Life
Queen

Love of my life you've hurt me
You've broken my heart and
now you leave me
Love of my life can't you see
Bring it back
bring it back
Don't take it away from me
Because you don't know
What it means to me

Love of my life don't leave me
You've taken my love
you now desert me
Love of my life can't you see
Bring it back
bring it back
Don't take it away from me
Because you don't know
What it means to me

You will remember
When this is blown over
And everything's all by the way
When I grow older
I will be there at your side to remind you
How I still love you
I still love you

Hurry back,
hurry back
Please bring it back home to me
Because you don't know
What it means to me
Love of my life
Love of my life
Yeah

:p I've already posted that one, but yeah, I love it as well. :D

This one is short, but I love it too! It's used as an introduction thing to concerts...

THE HERO by QUEEN (written by BRIAN MAY)

So you feel that you ain't nobody
Always needed to be somebody
Put your feet on the ground
Put your hand on your heart
Lift your head to the stars
And the world's for your taking

So you feel it's the end of the story
Find it all pretty satisfactory
Well I tell you, my friend
This might seem like the end
But the continuation
Is yours for the making

Yes, you're a hero!

Wig in a Box (From Hedwig and the Angry Inch)

On nights like this
When the world's a bit amiss
And the lights go down
Across the trailer park
I get down, I feel had
Feel on the verge of going mad
And then it's time to punch the clock

I put on some make-up
Turn on the tape deck
And put the wig back on my head
Suddenly I'm Miss Midwest Midnight Checkout Queen
Until I head home
And I put myself to bed

I look back on where I'm from
Look at the woman I've become
And the strangest things seem suddenly routine
I look up from my Vermouth on the rocks
The gift wrapped wig's still in the box
Of towering velveteen

I put on some make-up
Some LaVern Baker
And pull the wig down from the shelf
Suddenly I'm Miss Beehive 1963
Until I wake up
And I turn back to myself

Some girls, they got natural ease
They wear it any way they please
With their French flip curls
From perfumed magazines
Wear it up, let it down
This is the best way that I've found
To be the best you've ever seen

I put on some make-up
Turn on the eight-track
I'm pulling the wig down from the shelf
Suddenly I'm Miss Farrah Fawcett
From TV
Until I wake up
And I turn back to myself

Shag, bi-level, bob
Dorothy Hamill do,
Sausage curl, chicken wings
It's all because of you
With your blow dried, feather backed
Toni home wave, too
Flip, fro , frizz, flop
It's all because of you
It's all because of you
It's all because of you

(okay...everybody...)

I put on some make-up
Turn on the eight track
I'm pulling the wig down from the shelf
Suddenly I'm Miss Punk Rock Star
Of stage and screen
And I ain't ever
I'm never turning back

I really love this one... it's definitley a favourite. :)

DANIEL by ELTON JOHN (music by ELTON JOHN, lyrics by BERNIE TAUPIN)
Daniel is traveling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh, and
I can see Daniel waving goodbye
God, it looks like Daniel,
Must be the clouds in my eyes

They say Spain is pretty, though I've never been
Well Daniel says it's the best place that he's ever seen
Oh, and
He should know, he's been there enough
Lord, I miss Daniel,
Oh, I miss him so much

Oh,
Daniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain, of the scars that won't heal?
Your eyes have died, but you see more than I
Daniel, you're a star in the face of the sky

Oh,
Daniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain, of the scars that won't heal?
Your eyes have died, but you see more than I
Daniel, you're a star in the face of the sky

Daniel is traveling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh, and
I can see Daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like Daniel,
Must be the clouds in my eyes
Oh God it looks like Daniel,
Must be the clouds in my eyes

I love this one too! :)

LITTLE WING by JIMI HENDRIX

Well she's walking, through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running wild
Butterflies and zebras
And moonbeams, and fairy tales
That's all she ever thinks about
Riding with the wind

When I'm sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free
It's all right she said, it's all right
Take anything you want from me
Anything

Fly on Little Wing
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Little Wing

Ah, so this is your "Daniel"... It's quite good. I've never had reasonto question Elton's lyrical prowess and still don't. ;) Nice pick with "Little Wing" too, it's a beautiful little piece that tends to be forgotten when matched up with Hendrix's other stuff. Here's my favorite Elton song...

"Funeral For A Friend/ Love Lies Bleeding"
-Elton John, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

The roses in the window box
Have tilted to one side
Everything about this house
Was born to grow and die

Oh it doesn't seem a year ago
To this very day
You said I'm sorry honey
If I don't change the pace
I can't face another day

And love lies bleeding in my hand
Oh it kills me to think of you with another man
I was playing rock and roll and you were just a fan
But my guitar couldn't hold you
So I split the band
Love lies bleeding in my hands

I wonder if those changes
Have left a scar on you
Like all the burning hoops of fire
That you and I passed through

You're a bluebird on a telegraph line
I hope you're happy now
Well if the wind of change comes down your way girl
You'll make it back somehow

That's all fine and good but it doesn't include the wonderful instrumental at the beginning of the song... The strangest way to start a rock album I've ever heard.
"Be thankful you're healthy."
"Be bitter you're not going to stay that way."
"Be glad you're even alive."
"Be furious you're going to die."
"Things could be much worse."
"They could be one hell of a lot better."

Here's one from U2's Joshua Tree. Still an amazing album IMO.

With Or Without You

Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you

With or without you
With or without you

Through the storm we reach the shore
You give it all but I want more
And I'm waiting for you

With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

My hands are tied
My body bruised, she's got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to lose

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you

With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you
With or without you

A Trio from Tom Waits I really like. These are from his album Mule Variations.

Hold On
(Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan)

They hung a sign up in out town
"if you live it up, you won't
live it down"
So, she left Monte Rio, son
Just like a bullet leaves a gun
With charcoal eyes and Monroe hips
She went and took that California trip
Well, the moon was gold, her
Hair like wind
She said don't look back just
Come on Jim
(Chorus)
Oh you got to
Hold on, Hold on
You got to hold on
Take my hand, I'm standing right here
You gotta hold on

Well, he gave her a dimestore watch
And a ring made from a spoon
Everyone is looking for someone to blame
But you share my bed, you share my name
Well, go ahead and call the cops
You don't meet nice girls in coffee shops
She said baby, I still love you
Sometimes there's nothin left to do

Oh you got to
Hold on, hold on
You got to hold on
Take my hand, I'm standing right here, you got to
Just hold on.

Well, God bless your crooked little heart St. Louis got the best of me
I miss your broken-china voice
How I wish you were still here with me

Well, you build it up, you wreck it down
You burn your mansion to the ground
When there's nothing left to keep you here, when
You're falling behind in this
Big blue world

Oh you go to
Hold on, hold on
You got to hold on
Take my hand, I'm standing right here
You got to hold on

Down by the Riverside motel,
It's 10 below and falling
By a 99 cent store she closed her eyes
And started swaying
But it's so hard to dance that way
When it's cold and there's no music
Well your old hometown is so far away
But, inside your head there's a record
That's playing, a song called

Hold on, hold on
You really got to hold on
Take my hand, I'm standing right here
And just hold on.

House Where Nobody Lives
(Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan)

There's a house on my block
That's abandoned and cold
Folks moved out of it a
Long time ago
And they took all their things
And they never came back
Looks like it's haunted
With the windows all cracked
And everyone call it
The house, the house where
Nobody lives

Once it held laughter
Once it held dreams
Did they throw it away
Did they know what it means
Did someone's heart break
Or did someone do somebody wrong?

Well the paint was all cracked
It was peeled off of the wood
Papers were stacked on the porch
Where I stood
And the weeds had grown up
Just as high as the door
There were birds in the chimney
And an old chest of drawers
Looks like no one will ever
Come back to the
House were nobody lives

Once it held laughter
Once it held dreams
Did they throw it away
Did they know what it means
Did someone's heart break
Or did someone do someone wrong?
So if you find someone
Someone to have, someone to hold
Don't trade it for silver
Don't trade it for gold
I have all of life's treasures
And they are fine and they are good
They remind me that houses
Are just made of wood
What makes a house grand
Ain't the roof or the doors
If there's love in a house
It's a palace for sure
Without love...
It ain't nothin but a house
A house where nobody lives
Without love it ain't nothin
But a house, a house where
Nobody lives.

Georgia Lee
(Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan)

Cold was the night, hard was the ground
They found her in a small grove of trees
Lonesome was the place where Georgia was found
She's too young to be out
On the street.

Why wasn't God watching?
Why wasn't God listening?
Why wasn't God there for
Georgia Lee?

Ida said she couldn't keep Georgia
From dropping out of school
I was doing the best that I could
But she kept runnin away from this world
These children are so hard to raise good

Why wasn't God watching?
Why wasn't God listening?
Why wasn't God there for
Georgia Lee?

Close your eyes and count to ten
I will got and hid but then
Be sure to find me. I want you to find me
And we'll play all over
We will play all over again

There's a toad in the witch grass
There's a crow in the corn
Wild flowers on a cross by the road
And somewhere a baby is crying
For her mom
As the hills turn from green back
To gold

Why wasn't God watching?
Why wasn't God listening?
Why wasn't God there for
Georgia Lee?

Thank you DW for getting me started on Tom Waits again :p : I love Mule Variations, especially "Hold On" (nice post) and "Big In Japan". Here's the opener to his very first album, one of my favorites.

"A New Coat Of Paint"
- Tom Waits, The Heart Of Saturday Night

Let's put a new coat of paint on this lonesome old town
Set 'em up, we'll be knockin' em down.
You wear a dress, baby, and I'll wear a tie.
We'll laugh at that old bloodshot moon in that burgundy sky

All your scribbled lovedreams, are lost or thrown away,
Here amidst the shuffle of an overflowing day
Our love needs a transfusion so let's shoot it full of wine
Fishin' for a good time starts with throwin'in your line

It's a bit short, but not only is it as good song I always found it interesting because you can see the early roots of much of his later songwriting in it.

Anyway, here's another from the same album to make up for "Paint"'s brevity.

"Semi Suite"
-Tom Waits, The Heart Of Saturday Night
Well you hate those diesels rollin'
And those Friday nights out bowlin'
When he's off for a twelve hour lay over night

You wish you had a dollar
For every time he hollered
That he's leavin'
And he's never comin' back

But the curtain-laced billow
And his hands on your pillow
And his trousers are hangin' on the chair

You're lyin' through your pain, babe
But you're gonna tell him he's your man
And you ain't got the courage to leave

He tells you that you're on his mind
You're the only one he's ever gonna find
It's kind-a special, understands his complicated soul...

But the only place a man can breathe
And collect his thoughts is
Midnight and flyin' away on the road.

But you've packed and unpacked
So many times you've lost track
And the steam heat is drippin' off the walls

But when you hear his engines
You're lookin' through the window in the kitchen and you know
You're always gonna be there when he calls

'Cause he's a truck drivin' man
Stoppin' when he can
He's a truck drivin' man
Stoppin' when he can
"Be thankful you're healthy."
"Be bitter you're not going to stay that way."
"Be glad you're even alive."
"Be furious you're going to die."
"Things could be much worse."
"They could be one hell of a lot better."

You're welcome Tony. I love Tom Waits. His voice has a warm, yet gritty, quality that lends itself perfectly to the narratives he sings. I've found that he can take take songs that would be sappy, or cheesy, if sung by anybody else and he can turn them into something wonderful.
When I saw him in concert he did "Hold On." It was incredible...

I also have The Heart Of Saturday Night, it's awesome.

You just have to keep rubbing that in don't you... :p

Yeah it's a darn fine album. I like Rain Dogs more, but it's a close second.

Here's "Big In Japan" for anyone interested...

"Big In Japan"
-Tom Waits, Mule Variations

I got the style but not the grace
I got the clothes but not the face
I got the bread but not the butter
I got the winda but not the shutter
But I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan But heh I'm big in Japan
I got the house but not the deed
I got the horn but not the reed
I got the cards but not the luck
I got the wheel but not the truck
But heh I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan
I got the moon I got the cheese I got the whole damn nation
On its knees I got the rooster I got the crow
I got the ebb I got the flow
I got the powder but not the gun
I got the dog but not the bun
I got the clouds but not the sky
I got the stripes but not the tie
But heh I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan
Heh ho they love the way I do it
Heh ho there's really nothing to it
I got the moon I got the cheese
I got the whole damn nation on their knees
I got the rooster I got the crow
I got the ebb I got the flow
I got the sizzle but not the steak
I got the boat but not the lake
I got the sheets but not the bed
I got the jam but not the bread
But heh I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan
I'm big in Japan, I'm big in Japan

I've got a long drive tomorrow, there'll be plenty of Mr. Waits played I'm guessing. ;)
"Be thankful you're healthy."
"Be bitter you're not going to stay that way."
"Be glad you're even alive."
"Be furious you're going to die."
"Things could be much worse."
"They could be one hell of a lot better."

"Rain Dogs" is great, but I think I marginally prefer "Small Change" because of "Invitation to the Blues".

On a different note, I like the mixture of dream and venom in this

Pirate Jenny

You people can watch while I’m scrubbing these floors
And I’m scrubbin’ the floors while you’re gawking
Maybe once ya tip me and it makes ya feel swell
In this crummy southern town
In this crummy old hotel
But you’ll never guess to who you’re talkin’.
No. you couldn’t ever guess to who you’re talkin’.

Then one night there’s a scream in the night
And you’ll wonder who could that have been
And you see me kinda grinnin’ while I’m scrubbin’
And you say, what’s she got to grin?
I’ll tell you.

There’s a ship
The black freighter
With a skull on it’s masthead
Will be coming in

You gentlemen can say, hey gal, finish them floors!
Get upstairs! what’s wrong with you! earn your keep here!
You toss me your tips
And look out to the ships
But I’m counting your heads
As I’m making the beds
Cuz there’s nobody gonna sleep here, honey
Nobody
Nobody!

Then one night there’s a scream in the night
And you say, who’s that kicking up a row?
And ya see me kinda starin’ out the winda
And you say, what’s she got to stare at now?
I’ll tell ya.

There’s a ship
The black freighter
Turns around in the harbor
Shootin’ guns from her bow

Now
You gentlemen can wipe off that smile off your face
Cause every building in town is a flat one
This whole frickin’ place will be down to the ground
Only this cheap hotel standing up safe and sound
And you yell, why do they spare that one?
Yes.
That’s what you say.
Why do they spare that one?

All the night through, through the noise and to-do
You wonder who is that person that lives up there?
And you see me stepping out in the morning
Looking nice with a ribbon in my hair

And the ship
The black freighter
Runs a flag up it’s masthead
And a cheer rings the air

By noontime the dock
Is a-swarmin’ with men
Comin’ out from the ghostly freighter
They move in the shadows
Where no one can see
And they’re chainin’ up people
And they’re bringin’ em to me
Askin’ me,
Kill them now, or later?
Askin’ me!
Kill them now, or later?

Noon by the clock
And so still by the dock
You can hear a foghorn miles away
And in that quiet of death
I’ll say, right now.
Right now!

Then they’ll pile up the bodies
And I’ll say,
That’ll learn ya!

And the ship
The black freighter
Disappears out to sea
And
On
It
Is
Me

My 2 Current Favorites......

The Perishers - "Pills"

I hope my smile
can distract you
I hope my fists
can fight for two
So it never has to show
And you’ll never know

I hope my love
can blind you
I hope my arms
can bind you
So you’ll never have to see
What we’ve grown to be

One may think
we’re alright
But we need pills
to sleep at night
We need lies
to make it through the day
We’re not ok

One may think
we’re doing fine
But if I had to lay it on the line
We’re losing ground
with every passing day
We’re not ok

But that’s one thing
I would never
One thing I would never
That’s one thing
I would never say to you

The Fray - "Over My Head"

I never knew
I never knew that everything was falling through
That everyone I knew was waiting on a cue
To turn and run when all I needed was the truth
But that's how it's got to be
It's coming down to nothing more than apathy
I'd rather run the other way than stay and see
The smoke and who's still standing when it clears

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind

Let's rearrange
I wish you were a stranger I could disengage
Say that we agree and then never change
Soften a bit until we all just get along
But that's disregard
Find another friend and you discard
As you lose the argument in a cable car
Hanging above as the canyon comes between

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind

And suddenly I become a part of your past
I'm becoming the part that don't last
I'm losing you and its effortless
Without a sound we lose sight of the ground
In the throw around
Never thought that you wanted to bring it down
I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
Ah, so this is your "Daniel"... It's quite good. I've never had reason to question Elton's lyrical prowess and still don't.
Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics.

I like this song. :) It's the theme song for Shrek.

IT IS YOU (I HAVE LOVED) by DANA GLOVER

There is something that I see
In the way you look at me
There’s a smile, there's a truth
In your eyes

What an unexpected way
On this unexpected day
Could it be this is where I belong?
It is you I have loved all along

There's no more mystery,
It is finally clear to me
You’re the home my heart searched for so long
And it is you I have loved all along

There were times I ran to hide
Afraid to show the other side
Alone in the night
Without you

But now I know just who you are
And I know you hold my heart
Finally this is where I belong
And it is you I have loved all along

There's no more mystery,
It is finally clear to me
You’re the home my heart searched for so long
It is you I have loved all along

Over and over, I’m filled with emotion
Your love, it rushes through my veins
And I am filled with the sweetest devotion
As I look into your perfect face

There's no more a mystery,
It is finally clear to me
You’re the home my heart searched for so long
And it is you I have loved
It is you I have loved
It is you I have loved all along

Johnny Tillotson - Poetry In Motion
Pure classic :)

When I see my baby
What do I see
Poetry
Poetry in motion

Poetry in motion
Walkin' by my side
Her lovely locomotion
Keeps my eyes open wide

Poetry in motion
See her gentle sway
A wave out on the ocean
Could never move that way

I love every movement
And there's nothing I would change
She doesn't need improvement
She's much too nice to rearrange

Poetry in motion
Dancing close to me
A flower of devotion
A swaying gracefully

Whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whooooooooa

Poetry in motion
See her gentle sway
A wave out on the ocean
Could never move that way

I love every movement
There's nothing I would change
She doesn't need improvement
She's much too nice to rearrange

Poetry in motion
All that I adore
No number-nine love potion
Could make me love her more

Whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

*mutters* I dug through SYM for 10 minutes trying to find this thread! I didn't know it had been moved. :(

I listened to this song on my walk to work today, and given everything today, it fits my mood and situation.
8. "Forget To Remember" by Mudvayne

What have I done?
Where have I come from?
When I burnt the backs with the sun through a glass
did I seal the loss that's become me?

Feeling undone
What have I become?
When I turned my back on you I turned my back on
myself and became this machine

Thoughtlessness
Selfishness
Hopelessness
Arrogant

I feel it on the inside
Twisting and contorting
Memory has shaped me once again

Still feel you on the inside
Biting through and stinging
Will I ever forget to remember?

Shadows in the sun
Filter through us
Still wrestle the demons that arrested me as a child
Confession rejected
We grow up
To give up
People step on the cracks for wounds owed paid back
Through the words of surrender

Emptiness
Loneliness
Listlessness
Worthless

I feel it on the inside
Twisting and contorting
Memory has shaped me once again
Still feel you on the inside
Biting through and stinging
Will I ever forget to remember?

Can you save me?
From myself
From these memories
Can you save me?
From myself
From these memories

Surrender
To the shadows
Haunting inside
Bleed through you
Surrender to the secretes...inside
Lies within you

I feel it on the inside
Twisting and contorting
Memory has shaped me once again
Still feel you on the inside
Biting through and stinging
Will I ever forget to remember?

Can't feel you on the inside
Set down the bag and left it
Lost memory has left me
One again
Open up the inside
Admission for the cleansing
Now that I've forgotten to remember

Surrender
To the shadows
Haunting inside
Bleed through you

"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"
