I'm touched Galuf, you dedicted a good song to myself and the pretty lady. :speech: :D

STP for the people,

"Interstate Love Song", by Stone Temple Pilots

Waiting on a sunday afternoon
For what I read between the lines,
Your lies.
Feelin’ like a hand in rusted shame
So do you laugh or does it cry?
Reply?

Leavin’ on a southern train
Only yesterday you lied,
Promises of what I seemed to be
Only watched the time go by,
All of these things you said to me.

Breathing is the hardest thing
To do. with all I’ve said and
All that’s dead for you,
You lied - good bye

Leavin’ on a southern train
Only yesterday you lied
Promises of what I seemed to be
Only watched the time go by,
All of these things I said to you.

@Mag: Glad you like a bit of Dire Straits :) .

Another great song by Led, I don't think anyone has posted it. Love the start to this song.

Led Zeppelin - "The Immigrant Song"

Ah,Ah (x2)

We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow

Hammer of the gods
will drive our ships to new land
to fight the horde
and sing and cry
Valhalla I am coming

On we sweep
with, threshing oar
our only goal will be the western shore

AH,AH (x2)

We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow

How soft your fields so green
can whisper tales of gore
of how we calmed
the tides of war
we are your overlords

On we sweep
with, threshing oar
our only goal will be the western shore

So now you'd better stop
and rebuild all your ruin
for peace and trust can win the day despite, despite of all your losin ooo oo oo ooo ooo ooo oo oo oo oo oo oo ooo oo oo ooo

Nice choice DJV. :)

This is a beautiful song, from Queen's album News of the World. Freddie's vocals are magnificent as always, and it's definitley a favourite from Mr Deacon. :)
SPREAD YOUR WINGS by QUEEN (words and music by JOHN DEACON)

Sammy was low
Just watching the show
Over and over again
Knew it was time
He'd made up his mind
To leave his dead life behind

His boss said to him,
"Boy you'd better begin
To get those crazy notions right out of your head
Sammy, who do you think that you are?
You should've been sweeping up the Emerald bar"

Spread your wings and fly away
Fly away, far away
Spread your little wings and fly away
Fly away, far away
Pull yourself together
'Cause you know you should do better
That's because you're a free man

He spends his evenings alone in his hotel room
Keeping his thoughts to himself, he'd be leaving soon
Wishing he was miles and miles away
Nothing in this world, nothing, would make him stay

Since he was small
Had no luck at all
Nothing came easy to him
Now it was time
He'd made up his mind, mm
"This could be my last chance"

His boss said to him
"Now listen boy,
You're always dreamin'
You've got no real ambition, you won't get very far
Sammy boy, don't you know who you are?
Why can't you be happy at the Emerald bar?"

So honey,
Spread your wings and fly away
Fly away, far away
Spread your little wings and fly away
Fly away, far away
Pull yourself together
'Cause you know you should do better
That's because you're a free man

Come on, honey
Fly with me

I love interstate love song :D
311: Down
Chill. light on my sight as my ego becomes
A funky child with some words on my tongue
Be like intake of breath and my mouth gets loose
While i scatter my spit i dream of juice
Have you ever made out in dark hallways
Displayed a kiss that made your day or say
Play a track from your record collection
It's your mix, congratulations

We've changed a lot and then some some
Know that we have always been down down
And if i ever didn't thank you you
Then just let me do it now

I bet you light up when we start the show follow me now
Very closely because i told you so you know
We glow because we throw sun rays
We be freaky and we wanna stay

CHORUS

Lightning strikes yo we be in that violent force of light
Guaranteed to turn it out as bad as dolemite
'Cuz we're dope kidchange like a chameleon
And the channel whenever that wack show real world is on
You know we dazzle likeghetto box boomin' battles
Rattle inside your head feel redeemed like cola bottles
Fall in love with you teachers on the wax
We are self made check the technique 311 in LA

CHORUS

Keep my feet on the ground
Keep my head in the clouds
Electrified by the sound
Comes from the down
And

CHORUS

Very nice DJV LZ is my favorite band of all time. Here's an underrated Zep song that gets alot of radio time but no respect. It doesn't sound very much like them in actuality but it's quite funny and catchy, one of the first Zep songs I ever heard. Actually kind of makes me think of Magrus when I read the lyrics... :p

"Fool In the Rain"
-Led Zeppelin, In Through the Out Door

Well there’s a light in your eye that keeps shining
Like a star that can’t wait for the night
I hate to think I’ve been blinded baby
Why can’t I see you tonight?

And the warmth of your smile starts a-burnin’
And the thrill of your touch gives me fright
And I’m shaking so much, really yearning
Why don’t you show up, make it all right?
Yeah, it’s all right.

And if you promised you’d love so completely
And you said you would always be true
You swore that you would never leave me, baby:
What ever happened to you?

And you thought it was only in movies
As you wish all your dreams would come true
It ain’t the first time believe me, baby
I’m standin here feeling blue
Yeah I’m blue

Now I will stand in the rain on the corner
I’ll watch the people go shuffling downtown
Another ten minutes no longer
And then I’m turning around

The clock on the wall’s moving slower
My heart it sinks to the ground
And the storm that I thought would blow over
Clouds the light of the love that I found

Now my body is starting to quiver
And the palms of my hands getting wet
I’ve got no reason to doubt you baby,
It’s all a terrible mess

I’ll run in the rain till I’m breathless
When I’m breathless I’ll run till I drop, hey
The thoughts of a fool’s kind of careless
I’m just a fool waiting on the wrong block, oh yeah
Light of the love that I found...

Alongside "The Touch" (which was posted pages ago by your's truly), this is another song by this artist I remember as far back as I can, and love. Featured semi-prominently on the Transformers movie soundtrack.

Stan Bush - Dare

Sometimes when your hopes have all been shattered
And there's nowhere to turn
You wonder how you keep going
Think of all the things that really mattered
And the chances you've earned
The fire in your heart is growing
You can fly, if you try leaving the past behind
Heaven only knows what you might find

Dare - dare to believe you can survive
You hold the future in your hand
Dare - dare to keep all of your dreams alive
It's time to take a stand
And you can win, if you dare

Everybody's trying to break your spirit
Keeping you down
Seems like it's been forever
But there's another voice if you'll just hear it
Saying it's the last round
Looks like it's now or never
Out of the darkness you stumble into the light
Fighting for the things you know are right

Dare - dare to believe you can survive
The power is there at your command
Dare - dare to keep all of your dreams alive
It's time to take a stand
And you can win, if you dare

*instrumental*

Dare - dare to believe you can survive
You hold the future in your hand
Dare - dare to keep all of your dreams alive
The power is there at your command

Dare - dare to keep all your love alive
Dare to be all you can be
Dare - 'cause there is a place where dreams survive
And it's calling you on to victory

Pirate

Came out of dusk
With a swashbuckler’s grin
A taste of the ocean’s original sin
Followed the sextants to uncharted land
Set out to conquer
What you never could understand
You wondered what you would find
Safe in my dangerous mind
Treasure and pieces of eight
You saw the warnings too late

In the last light of evening
I shimmer like gold
But horrors you’d find
If these waters you trolled
I’m no safe harbor, no port in the storm
My arms draw you in, hold you tight
But they can’t keep you warm
I’ve got an ice-water heart
I have torn steel ships apart
Pity the man who is brave
He’ll find a watery grave

CHORUS:

You be the pirate and I’ll be the sea
I’ll roll and I’ll reel as you sail over me
And I may look calm but I’m raging inside
The others before you have died

It’s five in the morning
The sky’s burning red
Sailors take warning
Rough waters ahead
Still you stand by the bow
With a bottle to break
To christen the journey, this love
And the chances we take
You let the wind fill your sails
I summon doldrums and gales
You cut through me like a knife
But I’ll make you pay
With your life…life…life

CHORUS

It’s just before midnight
The fog rolling in
I put on my robe
And I dance in the wind
And I’m down by the ocean
With salt on my skin
To wait for the weather to change
Or the tide to come in
We built our love on this sand
Carried our hearts in our hands
Carelessly waded too deep
Swept off to sea in our sleep

CHORUS

Ah, i do like this song, reminds me of the Copper Coronet.

Led Zeppelin - Kashmir

Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed

Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace, whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate, the story was quite clear
Oh, oh.

Oh, I been flying... mama, there ain’t no denyin’
I’ve been flying, ain’t no denyin’, no denyin’

All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I’ve been.

Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream
My shangri-la beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high and true, when movin’ through kashmir.

Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
Ohh.

DevilsCowboy rides again........

You know, I look over all these lyrics and I am duly impressed. It is obvious to me that the people in this forum community are intelligent, and I am excited to become a part of it. I myself am a songwriter, and love seeing what kind of lyrics people like. So, I would like to contribute these lyrics which I love. They are from a song called Alright Guy by Gary Allan (yeah, i admit it's country, but what do you expect ftom someone named "DevilsCowboy"?

You know just the other morning
I was hanging around in my house
I had that old book with picutres of Madonna naked
And I was checkin' it out
Just then a friend of mine came to the door
She said she never pegged me for a scumbag before
Said she didn't ever want to see me no more
And I still don't why/

I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm an alright guy
Well I just want to live until I gotta die
I know I ain't perfect but God knows I try
I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm alright

This one time for medicinal purposes they forced me to smoke
some dope
I'm pretty sure I can still be the President
But I dont think I'll ever get to be the Pope
Well I get wild and I know I get drunk
It's not like I got a bunch of bodies in my trunk
My old man used to call me a no-good punk
And I still dont know why

I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm an alright guy
Well I just want to live until I gotta die
I know I ain't perfect but God knows I try
I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm alright

You know just the other night
The cops pulled me over outside the bar
When they turned on their lights
And they ordered me out my car
Man I was only kiddin' when I called 'em a couple of dicks
But still they made me do the stupid human tricks
Now I'm stuck in this jail with a bunch of dumb hicks
And I still don't know why

I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm an alright guy
Well I just want to live until I gotta die
I know I ain't perfect but God knows I try
I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm alright

@ Tony, I have actually always loved that song. :D I cannot for the life of me guess why you would think of me though. :p :o You've inspired to me to change my playlist, it's been in need of happening. *sighs* It's been a while since I broke out my 6 albums of Zeppelin. :(

It's just kind of a silly but meaningful song about some dude down on his luck with women... It doesn't necessarily fit with the perverted drunkard side of Magrus, but I think does with the hopeless romantic side. ;)

Blessed Be to Plant

I have to say, that I have immense respect and admiration for Robert Plant. His lyrics are so meaningful to my spiritual beliefs, and the fact that he can put his words to such stellar music. Every time I chill and listen to Zeppelin, I can feel the magick that permeates the air. Plant is a true bard. :)

This thread seems to have an over-abundance of Zeppelin lyrics, so i thought i'd post one of my favourite songs from the best band you've never heard of.

Stavesacre - Burning Clean

when this fleeting limelight fades
and we're alone again
what name will your heart speak?
what is true? what is real?
not what you feel
what you know eternally

ten years running blind and aimlessly
warming by the fires of bridges burning
ten thousand peering eyes that can only see
the show, the smile, the face i allow
how many more break beneath the surface?
young and bold, but blind and led by blind
His person missed beyond His name
was this the hope when we began?
a tragic generation
of faithless children and forgotten love?
i know i'd hoped for some other, higher purpose

what is true and what is real
past what you might feel
what do you know eternally?
and when this fleeting limelight fades
and we're alone again
what name will your heart speak?

and if you see me on the way down
would you smile and send me on my way?
and if you see me headed down
is there something more between
you and i?

something higher
something higher
i want to be real again
i want You, Father, be real in me
and if i see you on the way down
i'll lift your name up up into His care
and if i see you headed down
i'll do what i can to lift you up again

burn us clean, refine this world away
make Yourself real to me
make us to live as You would

Oh, and @Hill, is it alright to discuss songs as long as they're accompanied by lyrics?

Yeah, you can comment on people's songs, that's usually the best thing.

@Sol and Tony: Glad you liked it.

Here's a good ol' one:

Steve Miller Band - "Joker"

Some people call me the space cowboy, yeah
Some call me the gangster of love
Some people call me maurice
Cause I speak of the pompitous of love

People talk about me, baby
Say I’m doin’ you wrong, doin’ you wrong
Well, don’t you worry baby
Don’t worry
Cause I’m right here, right here, right here, right here at home

Cause I’m a picker
I’m a grinner
I’m a lover
And I’m a sinner
I play my music in the sun

I’m a joker
I’m a smoker
I’m a midnight toker
I sure don’t want to hurt no one

I’m a picker
I’m a grinner
I’m a lover
And I’m a sinner
I play my music in the sun

I’m a joker
I’m a smoker
I’m a midnight toker
I get my lovin’ on the run
Wooo wooooo

You’re the cutest thing
That I ever did see
I really love your peaches
Want to shake your tree
Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time
Ooo-eee baby, I’ll sure show you a good time

Cause I’m a picker
I’m a grinner
I’m a lover
And I’m a sinner
I play my music in the sun

I’m a joker
I’m a smoker
I’m a midnight toker
I get my lovin’ on the run

I’m a picker
I’m a grinner
I’m a lover
And I’m a sinner
I play my music in the sun

I’m a joker
I’m a smoker
I’m a midnight toker
I sure don’t want to hurt no one

Wooo woooo

People keep talking about me baby
They say I’m doin’ you wrong
Well don’t you worry, don’t worry, no don’t worry mama
Cause I’m right here at home

You’re the cutest thing I ever did see
Really love your peaches want to shake your tree
Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time

Disturbed

OK, here's a song from one of my absolute favorite bands, please pardon the blanks, but I wanted to keep it clean :)

FEAR-DISTURBED

He's on it again. Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
He's on it again. Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
He's on it again. Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
He's on it again. Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Reject
Are you no one
Feel you nothing
You know I'll bet you think
You have a good reason to be living
In the limelight of the fortunate ones
you're too weakened by the poison
That they feed you in the living lie
They don't believe you
Carr to no one
Trust in nothing
Little impotent one

I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be innocent, you know
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't want to let them hypnotize me

Punk ass, are you listening
Can you hear me or are you deaf and dumb to my language
Do the real words seem to hurt you
Well put 'em up mother______
You'll feel it
When I stamp it on your forehead
So you will never forget
That you're a reject
And you're a no one
And you're nothing
Little impotent one

I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be innocent, you know
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't want to let them hypnotize me
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't want innocence, you know
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't want to let them hypnotize me

Fear awaken
Go with it now
And let it overcome you
Fear awaken
Your mind is racing

I don't understand why you don't like me
Why don't you like me?
Am I so different from you
Now does it scare you that I'm able to discern
What to love and what to burn
I'll add your fuel to the fire now
Stand back, brother take your hand back
Leave it and I might crack
More than a smile or two you see
Don't judge what you don't understand
You can't deny what has been given to me

I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be innocent, you know
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't want to let them hypnotize me
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't want innocence, you know
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
I don't want to let them hypnotize me

Fear awaken
Go with it now
And let it overcome you
Fear awaken
Go with it now
Go with it now
Your fear awaken
Go with it now
And let it overcome you
Fear awaken
Your mind is racing

Erasing No.
Hey reject, are you no one, feel you nothing
You know, I bet you think you have a good reason
to be living in the limelight
Of the fortunate ones ya know

And one more

Another good one......

Deify-DISTURBED

All my devotion betrayed
I am no longer afraid
I was too blinded to see
How much you've stolen from me

You want to know why I feel so horrified?
I've let my innocence die
You want to know why I can't be pacified?
You made me bury something
I won't be sleeping tonight

I only wanted a blessing made
Now I've been labeled a renegade
It seems so clear now what I must do
You're no immortal
I won't let them
Deify you
They view you as the new messiah
Deify you
Renew belief in some demented man

You want to know why it seems the passion's died?
We've all been living this lie
You want to know why my will's been fortified?
You've made me hunger again
Good luck sleeping tonight

I only wanted a blessing made
Now I've been labeled a renegade
It seems so clear now what I must do
You're no immortal
I won't let them
Deify you
They view you as the new messiah
Deify you
Renew belief in some demented man

All my devotion betrayed
I am no longer afraid
I was too blinded to see
How much you've stolen from me

Deify you
They view you as the new messiah
Deify you
Renew belief in some demented man

"Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" by Led Zeppelin

Babe, baby, baby, I'm Gonna Leave You.
I said baby, you know I'm gonna leave you.
I'll leave you when the summertime,
Leave you when the summer comes a-rollin'
Leave you when the summer comes along.

Baby, baby, I don't wanna leave you,
I ain't jokin' woman, I got to ramble.
Oh, yeah, baby, baby, I believin',
We really got to ramble.
I can hear it callin' me the way it used to do,
I can hear it callin' me back home!

Babe...I'm gonna leave you
Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you
Oh I can hear it callin 'me
I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?

I know I never never never gonna leave your babe
But I got to go away from this place,
I've got to quit you, yeah
Baby, ooh don't you hear it callin' me?
Woman, woman, I know, I know
It feels good to have you back again
And I know that one day baby, it's really gonna grow, yes it is.
We gonna go walkin' through the park every day.
Come what may, every day

It was really, really good.
You made me happy every single day.
But now... I've got to go away!

Baby, baby, baby, baby
That's when it's callin' me
I said that's when it's callin' me back home...

One of my friend's uncles is Robert Plant :p Lead singer of Led Zep for the uneducated and born around here, West Brom :D .

Going To California
The soft song on Led Zep IV, beautiful.

Spent my days with a woman unkind,
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start,
Going To California with an aching in my heart.
Someone told me there's a girl out there
With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.
Took my chances on a big jet plane,
Never let them tell you that they're all the same.
The sea was red and the sky was grey,
Wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today.
The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake
As the children of the sun began to awake.

Seems that the wrath of the Gods got a punch on the nose and it started to flow;
I think I might be sinking.
Throw me a line if I reach it in time I'll meet you up there where the path runs straight and high.

To find a queen without a king,
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings... la la la la
Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born.
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems.
