Alrighty hen. i am, well i guess on all of your terms, fairly "new" to the rpg franchise. I didnt play morrowind untill late '05 or '06 XD. i hadmt even known tht oblivion was out untill i saw its reveiw on an old rerun of Xplay. i dont have a comp worthy of any games. so you see my problem. Most of you complain contiuously about how the game "needs" mods. i dosnt. trust me i know all i got is the console version. I thought it was a "fairly" good game. I had fun playin oblivion for the longest time and still do. But, i admit, there are a few things tht bethesda coulda worked on. But wht else would you expect frm modern society. Fable [HUGE letdown] Fable 2[Not as much of a let down but not what was expected] Star wars FU [I looked forward to this game, my mistake] Hell ill even say Fallout 3 had its problems. I have yet to see a game tht has not had at least a few problems. But, honestly, who hasnt found at least one of the games with problems fun for a while eh?

It depends, I suppose, on the type of game you like to play. If you want something with complexity, depth, challenge and atmosphere.. then both ES3 and ES4 *need* mods, the latter especially. Unmodded Oblivion and Morrowind are incredibly bland and superficial when compared to games like Planescape Torment and Baldur's Gate Two.
Further, if you do ever try these games on PC --with mods-- then you'll understand what we are talking about. Until then... :p

Howdy!

Hmm. As a completist, who wants to have complete sets, I'd like to get the entire Elder Scrolls series, just to say I have the complete set. I wish they'd do for the Elder Scrolls what they did for Tomb Raider, i.e. take the older games and update them to the new tech, so they can be played again, and also upgrade the graphics to equal status like they did with the remastered "Star Trek".

As for game play, I've read a lot about Morrowind, and I'm curious to play it. But I'd need a new hard drive dedicated to it, because I don't want to uninstall Oblivion. As it is, I have an external hard drive that is mostly filled up with the various Oblivion mods I downloaded. Having to reinstall them after the main game is a tiresome task.

Anyway, if they did do that, I'd like the option to continue with the same character from Game 1 up to, whatever the latest in the series is.

I have a mod for Oblivion that allows you to marry and have a spouse for each non-mod home. You could marry the same gender, as my girls do, or even marry other races, like a Dremora, as my girl did. The problem I had with it was, if you didn't attend to their needs enough, ala SIMS, they might not be home when you get back. The timing was as fast as SIMS too, but that was back before I found the time control mod. So I stopped using that mod

There was one called Damsels in Distress, but the damsels vanished once they exited the cave or dungeon.

Anyway, on my brother's X-Box, I play it without mods. On his big screen TV and big monitors, it looks and sounds great! But I get tired of having to make several trips per cave or dungeon. I prefer the PC where I can use the Bag of Holding and the Key Ring, etc.

Oh, and I've seen "The Blair Witch Project", and my gripe with the characters was that they weren't fully prepared for their trip. So when I got this game, I was so happy that it came with a map and compass! But also glad that eating is optional and that body waste needs aren't an issue! For me, it is more about the story and less about the game rules or uh.... elements! That's the better word. The gaming parts break me out of the story. So I got Dagger's Amulet and Mezlo's Weapons and the Ring of Stat Raising to compensate for those tedious bits so I can do the story as I see fit.
Shhh! Be very quiet! I may be sleep writing and sleep reading!
