Quest: Freeing the Nymph from Ragefast/Ramazith (I also liked "saving" Tamoko but not sure that counts as a quest).
Area: Beregost

Area: The area douth of Nashkel. It had Rufie, the Xvart, Kobold and Goblin, the fastest dart thrower in the west (reference to a loophole in the PnP rules) and the hunting party... it rocked!
Quest: getting your name cleared was very cool... took a while though!

What loophole?

Quest: This is hard, so many nice quests to choose from... Probably Nashkell Mines the first time. BG was my first AD&D game and clearing that early dungeon told me I was on the right track. Also loved taking care of Centeol and all her spiders (I hate spiders!) and getting Spiderbane. Had to try a couple of times before managing it (my party was really lousy since I hadn't quite figured out the rules yet), which made the victory even sweeter.
Area: The whole city of Baldur's Gate! As I though Beregost was big, entering BG was overwhelming. I didn't know where to go first and kept running like crazy all over the city. Aaah, those were the days...

Darts set your Rate of Fire, or number of attacks, at 3. Darts also counted as trhrown weapons, hence getting strength and specialization bonus to damage. Hence, here is Conan, 2 versions (both specialized and 18/00 strength)
Conan using Two Handed Sword.
Attacks 1.5, damage 1d10+8, speedfactor 10
Conan using darts
Attacks 3.5, damage 1d3+8, speedfactor 2
Darts, though a lot less "heroic" definitely are the weapon of choice, rules wise.
Not a loophole as such, but something that was known as a "glitch".

I enjoyed storming the Cloakwood mines, so I guess that would be my favorite "area".
As far as "quests" go, I enjoy the series of events that took place after my characters' return to Baldur's Gate from Candlekeep--investigating the Iron Throne, finding that Sarevok has betrayed his own camrades, finding out that Angelo has replaced Scar, rescuing Duke Eltan, uncovering Sarevok's plot to assassinate the other Dukes, killing his assassins, and finally, upsetting all of his plans and putting him on the run. Meeting Tamoko was interesting, too.
