Excellent. Perhaps viv could host RW and BS could host BG2. I'm guessing unclescratchy is in the U.S. but with Ysh in the UK when are we going to play. Perhaps we'll need to coordinate our sick day schedules. **cough cough**
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
Pebz: I'm told 300 k a second for us, but this may not be accurate.
Ned: I am familiar with Game Spy arcade, and have in fact hosted games through it in the past. I am not familiar with Roger Wilco, however, I will have no problem installing, getting it working etc... But, my comment about being a tech. have not was referring to my concerns that if any problems occur, I may not know how to deal with them. *shrugs* When problems have occurred, usually with Ysh or another not joining the game though they are trying to join, we usually restart the entire thing hoping for better results. This *may* not be the best way to handle this situation
As to hosting seperate programs, whatever you guys want
As to sick days...well in all honesty I can't for awhile. Just changing jobs now so I shouldn't have any sick days for awhile... But, we don't have to all play together all the time, just don't kill Viv
I'm usually good after 5:00 p.m. central time weeknights, and during the days on Sundays.
Also, I tend to like custom portraits for my characters (Okay, okay, usually women in black leather, but not always!!), which means sending them around to each of you, which may be a pain, let me know if that's too much work?
*Has visions of Ned trying to take down the moose and squirrel and Viv casting nice spells like hold person and domination to stop him in his tracks*

IMO the real problem with BG2 MP games is: Who shal be the leader/bhaalchild
"The measure of our hearts is taken by the kindness we show to the least of our brethren."

Yes, but not for hostingOriginally posted by Ned Flanders
Pebz,
most people using dsl and/or cable modem won't get uploads much quicker than that. It is quite adequate for MP Internet gaming
The character, yes. But you can choose who is playing who.Originally posted by Ned Flanders
The leader/bhaalchild I suppose would always have to be present to have a game?

Well, that not be me. I don't have tons of free time.
I don't know pebz. The people who host when we play ghost recon aren't getting uploads speeds much better than 128 kbps and we've had no troubles. that's with seven or eight people playing.

pebz,
the group gotz:
4 in minneapolis (server is here)
1 in michigan
1 in st. louis
1 in columbia, Missouri
2 in California (although one of those two is THEJAKER, gb member, whom I actually haven't had a session with yet)
Because the server is on a cable modem, the stability is essentially dictated by the traffic moving over the server's line. Cable modems are a shared connection so if you get a handful of people in a concentrated area using cable modem, your bandwidth will diminish. I don't anticipate BG2 is generating nearly as much traffic as ghost recon (in fact, I'm certain).

Well even though I only have modem connection, I haven't had a problem with game lag...though I don't host the game. But!!! I have negotiated my 512k connection!!
...Roll on April... The problem with me would be timing - since most of you are some 8 hours behind me...by the time you have got home from work and have eaten etc - it could be 2am here
