Don't forget that when you have a full party, and do all the quests you're around level 7/8 when you get to him.
And the best weapons in BG1 are +3 (2 weapons in the whole game), and there are no kitt's and no sorcerers.

And he has a lot of help in the final battle

Just wandering how you define offensive and defensive spells?
Diddicult to kill someone without inflicting damage IMO.

Well, a sorc still caries a weapon!!!

But try to kill sarevok hamering on him with a quaterstaff, good luck!

Unless you whacked Drizzt and ran off with his +5 Defender.

It's still only +3 - it's called +5 because of the +2 armour bonus
