Sarevok's armour and helmet.

Post by Bruce Lee »

Is it possible to find his old armour and helmet. I mean I know it is not in the game. But stats and appearance would be nice if anyone knows it.

There's no easy way of getting his old equipment - you're going to have to make them. During the final battle with him in BG1, these are the items that he have on (there are three different versions of him, this is the strongest one):

Full Plate Mail +1
- Armor Class 0

Two Handed Sword
- THAC0 Bonus: +5
- Damage: 1D10 + 5 (Slashing)

Ring of Protection +2
- Armor Class Bonus: 2
- Saving Throws Bonus: 2

Sarevok himself have:
- HP: 999
- Armor Class (Base): -20
- THAC0 (Base): 6
- Attacks per Round: 9
- Saving Throws: 1 (all)
- Resistances: 100% (Fire, Cold, Electric, Acid, Magic, Magic Fire, Magic Cold)
- Resistances: 50% (Slashing, Piercing, Crushing, Missile)

Also the appearance is not from the armor/helmet, but is a custom animation for him.

Urrmmm... Sabre, I think those are the stats of the über-Binky that killed Gorion. He isn`t that hard in the final battle (surely not 999 hp?) AFAIK.

If I remember correctly my fireballs could hit him, so that'll mean he dousn't have 100fire resistance in the final battle.

I think Ozmo is right that that are his stat's in the

I'm not too sure about which file is which character - there are three different ones for him. But as far as I can tell the Sarevok in the encounter - called Armored Figure (SAREV1.CRE) - is the following:

- HP: 504
- Armor Class (Base): 10
- THAC0 (Base): 8
- Attack per Round: 1
- Save vs Death: 5
- Save vs Wand: 7
- Save vs Polymorh: 6
- Save vs Breath: 5
- Save vs Spells: 8

Equipment - Full Plate +1, special longsword (+5 THAC0, 1D10+5 slashing damage)

The encounter is scripted, so it doesn't matter how often he get hit, he won't die.

There's also another Sarevok (SAREVO.CRE), with the following:
- HP: 285
- Armor Class (Base): -1
- THAC0 (Base): 2
- Attacks per Round: 2
- Saving Throws: 1 (all)
- Resistances: 90% (Fire, Cold, Electric, Acid, Magic Fire, Magic Cold)
- Resistance: 50% (Missile)

Equipment: Two Handed Sword, Ring of Protection +2, Helmet, Ring (haste)

The one I first posted was for SAREVO2.CRE

I think this is the one, I can't remember Sarevok having 9attacks per round, and having 100% resistance.

I never fought against Sarevok in BG (only got to Beregost before game crashed got me bored and I moved over to IWD and replaying BG2...), but that one indeed sounds the most logical to me. It`s a bit weird he has some 280 hitpoints in BG1 as a 15 level fighter when he barely got over 200 in ToB as a level 30+ one. Must be all the ballspawn stuff...

Or it could just be a tactic by the designers to make sure that the end boss of the game is suitably challenging. Image

P.S. It’s always been my personal belief that Sarevok’s armor was put on display in the Baldur’s Gate museum.

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Bearing in mind there had to be a Sarevok character from the Duchal Palace. I thought he was weaker than the final Sarevok, but they might have increased his HP to avoid accidental pre-endgame deaths.

It's a shame though, that you can't have his Bhaal Spawn charged garb. I think it would be a good addition to any ToB inventory. Besides that I'd just like to see them on a status screen. That's just the kind of thing I get curious about.

If you edit his appearance will the game crash because of animation gaps. Are you allowed to have all sorts of weapons equiped? shields? dual-wield? I think it might have problems because there is no animation for him dual-wielding if anyone knows please tell? If you cannot give that animation a weapon or it looks bad when you do (flying sword in fron of stationary character) it's not worth it.

I heard of a patch once that gave the sword of chaos bonuses when it was wielded by Sarevok, anyone know of this or where I can get it or if it works?

The animation wouldn't show a shield or extra weapon, it wouldn't change no matter what you give him.

The only animation gaps would be if there wasn't one for him casting a spell. Like making someone look like Elminster and getting him to fight. Because it doesn't occur in the game it wouldn't have an animation for it.

I think Sarevok should be okay though, as he was a boss there would be animations for most things.

@ Jerubal: Using Sarevoks animation for a pure fighter is doable in SoA only - there're no animation for HLA, so using them will make the game crash. Too bad as it's a nice animation for though fighter-type.

I have never ever ever played Baldurs gate before(and don't intend to) but Saverok couldn't have 500 + hp, thats way too much, way more than Irencius. I think you guys stuffed up, he probaly regenerates fast (and the Saverok i killed in Hell was Easy as) and his equipment sucks bad!

Was he really a hard opponent? I haven't played BG1 but those stats are like weak.

Any of my sorcs could propably kill him without offensive spells.
