every suggestion helps...as i intended this guide for the newbies, who are aware of the world of cheese available for soa, tob, but know very little of the details, i am constantly trying to add more cheese, and to tighten up the language so that each cheese section is easier to understand....
just finished 1.2,
new to 1.2
2 more cheeses
some more edits and proofreading, tightening up language and syntax to make the cheese easier to understand and use.
the users guide to spell protection removal...everything you always wanted to ask but were afraid of the answer...

The guide..
I downloaded it over the weekend, it's marvelous!
I'm doing ToB for the first time, and have only done a really cheesy fight once - Demogorgon with 7 spike traps. I was mostly curious if it would work - and it did!
However the guide provides really good understanding of spells and special abilities, which I am only now beginning to appreciate.
Thanks to you and all the contributors for all your good work

fot the AUTHORITATIVE guide, read xyx's spell guide listed in the credits...
his guide is like the encyclopedia britannica, where mine is like national geographic...
or readers digest...hehheheh....
but seriously, ive tried to make understanding the complex infinity engine rules much easier to simply understand...and xyx's guide is so big and so complete, unless you actually sit down and study it, like i did, its hard to get the big picture...
sounds like you're ready to study xyx's guide and get much more out of it...

That's an awful lotta cheese you have there, nice going.
A possible addition to version 1.3 might be getting 3 rings of the ram.
The procedure:
First of all (in order for this to work, you must not have spoken to Tolgerias previously, in other words, this is your first time to encounter him in the game) go to the gov't district, then when you see Tolgerias, use your Thief's thieving skills button to pickpocket the ring from him. Then, speak to him to get a quest to kill Valygar. Have Valygar to open the planar sphere, then kill him. After killing Valygar, give his body to Tolgerias to get another ring. You'll see Tolgerias again in the 2nd floor of the planar sphere. Kill him and then you'll get another ring of the Ram.

I have not seen this trick in any forum. Am going to dig out an old save game to test it out.
Nice work!

@ BGfan: Picked it up at gametalk-forum, from over a year ago.
Has not been tested by me yet, sorry. Ring the bell when it's working, okay?
Edit: Tip was posted at forum: Gametalk.com, oct 20 2001 by Pitspawn.

Must be doing something wrong, couldn't replicate the 3 ring trick. First off, couldn't pickpocket the ring from Tolgerias. Spoke to him, got the quest, returned and got the ring in exchange for Val's body as per normal. Could not find Tol on the second floor after that.
Will try again.

IIRC the Baldurdash patch removes the ability to pickpocket Tolgerias ring.

thinking of adding some more cheese....
the classic thief stealing recharged wands, selling and stealing back items to fences...
detect invisibility thief ability at high levels can bypass spell immunity divination...
and thinking of adding a encounter specific guide...
super cheesy ways to do the beholder over the river kwai in the unseeing eye, just cast cloudkills into fog of war and run away...hear them die, and cheesy ways to kill improved torgal, specific to tactics mod and sola mod...i already have some up, but a more organized approach...
what do you guys think???

The more cheese the better.
The guide is great.
Can't you make one for IWD-II?

sorry, dont have game, dont plan to...
but if people really want one, might make a morrowind cheese guide..
would be rather fun, but a lot of work, since i would have to read all the posts in that forum for ideas...

I realy like that game,
battles are much harder, so that makes more room for cheese

OK I have something to add to the cheese list. I dunno if this has been done before...
Assasin with UAI has three scrolls in his belt. First scroll: Time stop, then simulacrum, and then spell immunity. Walks into room, sets of simulacrum, spell immunity for both, double backstab with poison on both. Then timestop and repeat. If whoever it is is still standing, have them both use assasinate and hack him to pieces.
If you wanna use CLUA and the cheatcodes, get alot of simulacrum scrolls, ctrl+R your simulacrum and read another scroll. Instant army of pissed of Bhaalspawn assasins each with poison backstabs and a timestop.

Good idea, just thought of letting you know that the improved AI of dragons (forgot whose improved version) doesn't let you do the fog of war trick any more. Not sure about beholders.

you see, this is not fog of war trick...
but a broken path trick...as long as you dont answer the riddles when you get on the bridge, those pesky beholders CANNOT rush over to you..hehhehehehhe
