Another game I really liked and I thought the story was really cool was Earth 2150, and its sequel, its basically set in a postapocalyptic Earth where there are three major powers, the Lunar Corporation, UCS, and the Eurasian Dynasty, anyway in one of their wars a massive nuclear strike destabilizes the Earth's orbital tilt which causes the Earth to go careening into the Sun, now the race is on to escape and build a ship to reach Mars. Basically its a resource game, in which you gather in a certain amount of missions the resources needed to leave the planet. There isn't much voice scripting, but I find the mission statements hilarious, especially the Eurasians and the LC, and there is some really nice graphics and videos which play are absolutely awesome, it was really cool seeing some of the spaceship designs and the way you can zoom in and out on the various units is really cool. To boot I think the developers did a good job providing balance without making it to unlikely a event. Anyway I think its a European game, didn't really come out all that well in the states, mainly because I think not to many people knew about it.

But anyway I just thought that those two games were worth some consideration.
"In Germany, they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the homosexuals and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a homosexual. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me--but by that time there was no one left to speak up."

Max Payne and Deus Ex. Both fairly old and cheap games by now but very impressive plots.

Max Payne's plot is mind boggling. And it's enhanced by bullet time :D

More on Torment ?

So you guys who haven't play PST need more "persuasion" ? Allow me to spill some beans a bit then :D

You play as a character who got not idea who you are - zip, nada, nill memory of what so ever. You woke up inside a mortuary greeted by one talking skull (One funky skull that is :D ) Wait till you find out you can't even choose your allignment during character generation when you create your character ! To top that you can't even wear any armor, the city street is crawling with thugs waiting to attack you randomly more over you can't rest any place (i.e on streets like BG & BG2 does) Great collection of NPCs too - trust me, which game got NPC a sucubus ? :D

The game is a real challenge unless you have read the walkthru or use any cheat. Try not use cheat or read walkthru - it's worth the time ! Besides for an old game it has 3 ending too ! ;)
I'm not dead yet :D :p

Not to mention, there are absolutely no "normal" NPCs, in terms of race. :) Awesome game.

You think so?
I thought the story story was nice, but no more than that.

Bullet time rocks though!

I really like Fallout 2, the opening movie just sucks you in, it's great.

PS:T has to be one of the greatest concepts ever, I just love the fact that you create yourself during the game.
The fact that your a blanc page, makes it real easy for the player to make the "Nameless One" a digital copy of himself.
I was hooked when I got my wisdom raised by making a wise-guy comment to "O" :D
