Viccy is all very well Odie, but Anomen fits in better with a good party.

Aerie? She could have been played out better. Viconia? I never liked her at all anyways. Jaheira...could use some of a morale boost. Anomen had a hard past, so his situation is somewhat understandable.

I will not post any more commentary here, seeing as I have done so TIME-AFTER-TIME and I'm getting SO tired or writing out every little reason why I do like Anomen in these Anti- threads. **Whew...

However, I can give NUMEROUS links to pages where I have defended Ano, if anyone cares to hear me out. Check any other Anti-Anomen threads. You'll find out why I DO like him A LOT, despite all of the unnecessary negative critizm...

But, hey... We're all entitled to our opinions, I suppose, and I respect your opinions.

(And, just for your information, Odie... His name came from "An. Omen." not an abbreviation for "Annoying Man".

Yes, but as has been mentioned numerous times the evil NPCs are generally the best at what they do.

@AC-A spanking eh? do I have to bark like a dog too?

If you look at all the romance NPCs put in by Bioware they have all had a hard childhood, Anomen is no different to Aerie or Viconia in that respect. So that argument doesn't really hold out that well.

His name strikes me as an omen for being annoyed, if that's what you mean.

I luv Anomen!

I'm currently playing TOB and am in the middle of the Anomen romance. Sure, he's screwed up, arrogant and predictable, but I rather like him and am thoroughly enjoying the romance as part of the game.

I defend Anomen because I played without the voices turned on due in part to his ranting and that of other comparable and obnoxious NPCs.
Anomen has a great deal of potential however and should not be overlooked. He can become more powerful than any other NPC fighter! BLASPHEMY!?!

Anomen, LIke I mentioned can become a badass by the end depending on what you want to do with him. I chose to turn him into a cuisinart and set him to work as my #2 fighter. After 3 points in dual wield and the rest in flails, I had him beating things to death with flail of ages and crom faeyr throughout ToB. Since he is a fighter dualed over to cleric he has the ability to take the same # of slots in anything as a fighter. His clerical spells are not as powerful as Vicky at first, but by the end it is negligible, and his fighter abilities start to shine.
Giving Him some badass Equipment and setting him to work with a blade barrier/globe of blades can be quite devastating to anything.

PS I hate Anomen in every other way

ok, i admit it, even tho i am one one the most vocal anoweenie bashers in the forum, i have never taken him along...

well, after his pickup line in the coronet, i went "ewwww...." and imprisoned him...

but when i get chloe, i may do that, just to see how wonky he really is...

aerie is not really so bad, if you like needy girls...i do...

viccy can be a major asset, with right equipment she can be invulnerable to magic,

but aerie is aerie of destruction, with major firepower as you start chaining 7th level cleric quest spells...

anoweenie has only personality going for him...oooppseee...he dont have any...

Anomen excels at being fertilizer.

If he passes his test, he is a lousy cleric, and there are better fighters to fill the slot. If he fails his test, Viccy still is a better cleric with that high magic resistance. Any character can be awesome if you use the right equipment. But IMO, Anomen lacks the skills to compete, and the personality to make him interesting for anything except for target practice
