I want to be Jan Jansen's apprentice for a while

Lots of nice tricks one would learn that way, yes! Lots of gnomish/turnip lore to go with it, too. Vegetable peddling too

Nalia: Urm, so what did they steal? I mean I don't remember any reports of bandits along the Trademeet road recently...

Jan: Well, Dufus, I told you he was backwards, didn't I, lassie? Well, he somehow developed a taste for ornamental flora. He used to resemble a goat when he started to chew on evergreen trees and small bushes. So he and his brother demanded shrubbery from their victims. Poor laddie, it finally did him in. He died happier than a dung beetle in a dragon lair when he hijacked a huge shipment of shrubbery imported from tethry for the Jesslev estate. Sad story...

Might you, by any chance, have a made up dialog between Jaheira, Haer'Dalis and Jan? I find them the NPC's with the most wit in the game and I think a traingle dialog between them could truly be great

I like Imoen, but for I agree that Nalia is a better mage with more xp and better stats (better str.), although Imoen is a decent thief (Nalia not).
But change Nalia from a dualled T/M to a dualled (lev. 9) Fighter (archer kit)/mage and she really rocks: GM in sbows -> 4 att/rnd with Gesen!!! + the bonus of the kit, great hp and you don't lose anithing on the arcane side. Great, great NPC!!

Well now, most NPCs are great (even great, great)

if you replace their weaknesses with strengths by hacking them.
