Since I belong to the fossilised population here at SYM, I have to say Pool of Radiance in its' original version from SSI. Obviously, the simple graphics of this old game is nothing compared to modern games, but the story line and the ideas you could find in this game were so much better than in most current CRPG:s, with the exception of Planescape.
However, the game I've played by far the most, is Diablo 2. It's a totally different type of game of course but the fast game play suits me better than the story driven games.

It comes close between UFO (the original) and Baldurs gate II. But BGII wins out.
And then there lemmings II, diablo......

I thought the first Civilization game was very inventive, creating a genre that imo lacked real development untill Europa Universalis came out. Both these games are excellent.
I also must mention starcraft for being one of the most well crafted games I ever played.
The game I spend the most time with is probably Quake I&II though.

I've only played Heroes 3 & 4, and out of those two I prefer the fourth (heroes fight, you don't need a hero to move troops around, you can recruit troops directly from creature dwellings, and troops are made by the day instead of the week).
But my favourite game of all time would have to be Fallout 2.
Speaking of the N64, does anyone still play it? This whole summer I've been revisiting it, from Super Smash Bros with my brother and sister to Perfect Dark.

You are the man! Megadrive was great. Street Fighter and Streets of Rage kept me occupied for ages when I was still young. Truth be told, whenever the sega works, I still play those games.
Ahh, nostalgia

LOL, i bought a SNES again so i could play a link to the past.
You should try the gamecube version of Ocarina of Time (masterquest)
It's alot harder/better.
As for my best game, Dune2 comes in mind.
The first RTS, and a very good game.
But i have alot in common with Xandax, civilization is the game that tought me English and History. And i'm still playing part2. And i must have played the entire wincommander series 4times or so.
And last but not least Starcontrol2.
Damn that game was huge!

ROFL, is it even possible to use cheese in that game?
A friend of mine came over a few weeks ago and the sega refused to work. So we downloaded a sega emulator and the game and played it on the PC

Oh, that was a fun game! One of the most inspired and loopy of the ledger-style strategy titles, it never got the attention it deserved in the US because it came without a manual. (It was also released by Microprose during their falling-off days.) I especially liked the ability to turn to the "dark side" and become a kingpin of the Pizza mafia.
