What is your faveourite game of all time
Hey guys i was just wondering what your faveourite games are. I know this may seem like a stupid question because this is a rpg site afterall but i am still curious. GuNs Dont Kill I Do
I've always been a big fan of Age of Empires (especially the Age of Kings)
Whenever I could play the game online, I did. It even got me some foreign friends. One I already visited and when I'm in a certain country I come over to the others. Another thing why I like it, is because I'm quite good at it
BG would, of course, come in second. It's a nasty addictive game and playing it when you got exams can be devastating (no, this is not a fable!)
Third would be Enemy Territory, it's like medal of honour, but purely multiplayer orientated. A really cool game imo.
Hasn't this game been abandoned and turned freeware?
Dunno if it has been abandoned, but the creators of the Wing Commander series was Origin; so it is likely that it has been abandoned, seeing as Origin have been killed by the evil EA
Wing Commander games are - together with Civilization 1+2 - the most played games I've ever had .
I still have the original discs of the entier series. (WC1 -> WC5) I think .... might have misplaced WC1+WC2 though.

Quake 2 is my favourite FPS from all times, followed close by Unreal (it is actually a draw, but now I'm on Q2 a bit more). I play both on the hardest modes, and I love em.
Racing? I love need for speed. Only.
RPG? BG series. And some NWN. but BG rocks.
Consoles? Zelda.

Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.
Yeah, I agree that there isn't ONE best. So I'll have to classify a best for a style of game:
FPS: Duke Nukem. Funny as hell. Love the graphics.
Strategy: Heroes of Might and Magic. Great game.
RPG: Quest for Glory III. I just love this series, except for the last one. Besides, I like to think a TRUE RPG involves less mindless killing.
Puzzle: Monkey Island II. Simply rocked.
Scary: Phantasmagoria. Play this with the light off man.
Adventure: Little Big Adventure. A magical world. Played it many times over when I was younger.
Racing: Test Drive Off-Road
and so on...

The first game I ever played was Doom 2, and that left a lasting impression. Then there was the Duke Nukems. Had I copy, I would likely install it just for kicks.
Half Life was one of my favorites, too. Plot, and all.
But as far as RPGs go, definetely BG1. Loved it; still do to this day.

Hmmm.. I'd have to say it is a toss up between Planescape Torment and Baldur's Gate Two

I believe I liked Heroes of Might and Magic 3 the best, but it's been so long since I've played the series that I don't remember any more.

M&M3 was my favorite in the series, too. Damn good game, fun graphics, good sense of humor.
But I couldn't choose one game as my favorite. I mean by that, would you go back and play M&M3 every day, all you could?
King of Dragon Pass may fit that category, because of its 600+ plots that are scrambled when you play a new game, with roughly half or more not appearing in any given game, at all--not to mention that you can play to win with dozens of different variable factors that affect the kind of tribe and tribal leader you are.
But I'm leary of any "best." It's such an all-encompassing word. Just the other day we were driving down the highway when my wife pointed out a sign in front of a home office: a local attorney was advertising that he'd been voted "best lawyer for sothern New Jersey."
By whom, the collected thugs he'd kept out of prison?

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Teh entire Warcraft series and the Starcraft series.
