Ok if i remember correction when you ressurect him at the end after your soul has merged with you. He mentions something to you that punishment leads to perfection. And that you should reflect upon yourself while serving time more or less. It was around these lines just don't remember the exact wording. Hope this helps. Ta

*Spoiler* for Torment
Ok Raimana, you are right. But i was reffering to the fact that if you decide to give a fight and you ressurect Vhailor, you are given a dialogue option to tell him about you former injustices. Then Vhailor receives 2,000,000 xp and many levels of experience at once! The game states that he is becoming more like a force than a simple suit of armor-the force of justice itself. You are reffering to the "good" end.
"The hand of Justice shall not be stayed "

Okay, for those people having difficulty using the Helm of Vailor, here's the trick.
You'll notice it coming up with the "save vs death" message when you use it, but not often working. You have to *fail* your save for it to work. If your wearing any items that improve your saves, take them off as it'll make a big difference.

About Fighter/Mage armour: Drow chain+3 is 1AC worse than Bladesinger. I don't know if the 5% magic resistance and reduction of casting speed by 1 is worth it. And, are you sure about the chain+5? I thought it disabled my wizard spells when I equipped it. I can't remember for sure, but it seems likely, as the chain+3 seems like it was designed for Fighter/Mages.
And even if either of those are better, I wouldn't want to use drow armour in the light. I'd feel like I was cheating too much.

my take on underappreciated items..darts!
who use them at all?
though the cloak of the stars is able to create +5 darts

About Fighter / Mage armor: I'm not 100% sure about the chain +5 but I think I've got Imoen equipped with it & she can cast spells alright. *no comments* about the cheating part - I'm still in the underdark but I don't know if I'll sneak that stuff out or not.
About unappreciated items: Darts +5 ... But doesn't the cloak of the stars create around 5 or 10 of those / day? that's not much ...

My choice for the unappreciated item: Ring of Eart Control? (+1 AC, Stone to Flesh & Charm Elemental once in a day). It isn't even considered magical so you can wear it with Magical Armor.

Robe of Vecna is only AC 5. Pity.

Perhaps, but add a good dexterity (possibly through the Gloves you picked up in the Unseeing Eye lair) and a Cloak or Ring of Protection +2, and you can get a good negative AC. Nalia has with me an AC of -6 or -7 or so...

I have had great use of the Azuredge. It is perfect as a second weapon for someone (ranged). At an early stage it helped me kill an Adanamite Golem without losing any hp. Minsc just stood there throwing it while I went out in the kitchen and made some coffee. I have read that the Dwarven Thrower +3 should be even better but haven't got it yet.

You also need a Dwarf to be able to use the Dwarven Thrower. Azuredge seemed a rip-off to me. Despite it's description it appeared to act as a normal +0 throwing axe except that it did throw and return. I never saw any undead have to make saving throws like they do with the Mace of Disruption.
Another under-rated item is the Defender of Easthaven. Not only is it not talked about, but it's description under-rates it. In fact, it is a +3 (not +2) flail so it has another +1 to thac0 and does d6+4 (not d6+2) damage. It is a very good weapon for anyone and a great weapon for barbarians.
About Vailor's helm, since it is a save vs death, I've thought about importing the Claw of Kazgoth from BG1 (+2 all saves except -4 save vs death)

The Azuredge works against undead, I don't know if its as effective as the mace of disruption but it certainly works.

I am suprise not to see here the Long Sword Adjaba -The Drinker, my character always use it on the shield slot, works like +2 weapon, steals hp and transfer them to the wilder, and protects against charm and confusion.
Everybody goes for the Holy Avenger but I like to be a dual wilding Fighter/Mage.
note:the Planescape items are from serveral worlds and planes.by the way vecna comes from Grayhawk (the robe is not a artefact but vecna eye and vecna hand are)were she is a demigod now (before she was just a denilich but a very powerful one)

Actually Azuredge is bugged.
It does 3d6+3 damage, which means it's *extremely* powerful. However the undead stuff *mostly* doesn't work.
There's a fix at baldurdash.com if you want to make it work like it should.

I like Tasheron's Bow. I don't have to wait to get its parts, unlike Gesen's bow, and it is +3. I took the Adamantium Golem with it without a worry of his poison gas.
