The kensai that I am going to make for my protagonist is supposed to be a kensai/thief so that he'll get the "use all items" skill. I only whant to give my PC the fewest possible lvl's in the thief class in order to gain the "use all items" skill (i don't know how high lvl a thief needs to be to get that skill). My question now is: shuold i start my PC as a thief and then dual-class him to a kensai later, or the other way arround?
After my PC get's the "use all items" skill i only wan't to take lvl's in the kensai class... so plz help me out here!
Like Faust said, what you're trying to do isn't really possible. Also, if you're going to dual, you don't want to wait too long- you will take forever to get your Kensai abilities back (remember, you get your old class abilities back when your level is one higher than when you dualclassed).
The longest I've ever waited was 15th lvl with a Kensai. However, I cheated (by upping his level to 15 in Irenicus' dungeon and dualing immediately) and it
still took forever! 9th level is enough, 12th is good too, and 13th is probably as long as you should wait. IMHO, if wait much longer, you won't notice a difference in the end product (the difference between a 12th and 15th level Kensai really isn't that great).

Kensai Warrior
I've almost completed Baldur's Gate II on Hard with just a Kensai Warrior, so choosing a Kensai warrior is a good move, but it can't been any old kensai warrior this is the specification for the ultimate killing machine:
Race: Half-orc
Class: Kensai Warrior
Attributes
Strength: 19
Dexterity: 18
Constitution: 19
Wisdom: 15 } These three character traits don't really matter so you
Intellegance: 15 } can mix them up I'd suggest keeping intellegance and
Charisma: 8 } wisdom high as they are more useful.
Proficiency:
Long Sword: **
Katana: **
Two-Weapon Fighting:**
Now with my Half-Orc I gave him the celestial Fury and the Crom Faeyr (I put some proficiency slots on warhammer later in the game) if any of you have encountered these weapons then you will know how devistating they can be.

Don't blow your own trumpet.
There are loads of ways to make stronger killing machines than a simple kensai, especially if he dual-wields with only two profiencys in two-weapon style. And 15 int? what for?
Besides, I'd have a hard time playing a kensai orc. Only elf, maybe half-elf or human.

I think a half-orc Barbarian dual-wielding Crom Faery and Celestial Fury would give a half-orc Kensai a run for his money.

Three little wonderful words... Big Metal Unit. Speaking from experiance, it would probably be best to create a party with just three or four characters in it. It gives you the ability to take down powerful foes with relative ease that a solo character could not, and it would give everyone the maximum amount of XP if your planning on NOT cheating or just wandering around aimlessly looking to be waylaid my enimies. One example would be:
PC: Dwarven Fighter with every possible thing on him.
Edwin: Superior mage skills.
Anomen: Fighter/Priest for healing any injuries.
Saravok: Tank who can dish out up to 250 damage in one hit and take plenty of damage.
This is just one example of a 4 person party. There are many others.
