@Aegis, I believe you do plenty for the site by just clicking the banner ads. One person can only do so much.

How many? 2000

If it is this many that still leaves a 1000.

If just 500 of them donate one dollar that would be $500.00 a month. The cost of a 16 ounce Coke.

Buck,
Pop ads are fine, I have no problem with them. They do not get in the way, either. Nice job.

Most people only come here to ask one question concerning a problem in a game, or check a walkthrough, and really don't give a damn about this site, for they will just look for another one if this one closes down...

You have to realize alot of us aren't rolling in cash and you'd have to send in more than a dollar as PayPal deducts a certain amount from each transaction. That's how they make their money.

Also, a good majority of the members are under 18 and don't have access to a credit card or crazy parents ;) . Don't take that number of reg'd members as a total. I'd say 15%-25% are in-active and have been for awhile.

I think Buck is going the right way with the pop-behinds. Maybe he should do both pop-behinds and pop-ups. With the 12 hour timer on both it wouldn't kill any of us.

Buck, have you talked to Ed at Suxxors about alternatives?

You could think of these pop-ups as a game. Try and get the quickest time for closing a pop-up window.

You can tell I'm bored

If they help GameBanshee then I don't mind them. The pop-behind thing is a good idea.

imo, the pop-ups are OK; if it helps the site to survive...

Strange as it seems I'm not rolling in the cash, but I'm willing to give up one game a year to help the site out. If I was rolling in the cash I would pay for everything, sadly I cannot.

Do I have all the answers, no. I have only had a computer since April of 2000. This board was the first one I ever register at and I have learned, made friends and enjoyed my time here.

Yeah - me to.
If I found a game, where I could spendt as much time as I've done on GB, I would go out an buy it - but since there isn't one - I'll just support GB instead :)

PayPal actually refund that $1 when you enter your confirmation number on your account there (this number you will receive on your next credit card statement) :)

Though PayPal appears to be a US site - there is small print for overseas residents.

For those who prefer Amazon - if you are resident outside the US - you are better off registering with your country's Amazon website before going to Amazon.com via Buck's link.

For instance I could not get beyond the address part at the .com page because of the US site not liking my post code. I edited my account details (entering an address) at Amazon.co.uk. No problem with my post code here.

I hope this helps anyone out who are interested in helping this site but have experienced problems donating via the two options... :)

I'd send buck money. But until I get another bank account (They closed my account! AND TOOK MY DAMN 10 cents! BASTIDS!) I can't send him F*all since post won't allow money through envelopes (and I don't trust them =P)

Buck, I have seen some pop-behinds and pop-ups recently, very seldom though. They are not disturbing me at all :) Just to let you know :)

It's not really annoying. If it makes any difference to GameBanshee, go ahead and double the amount of pop-behinds. One every 6 hours is still only a minor nuisance IMO. :)

I get the pop-ups too, but they usually go right behind the main screen once loaded. I beleive that may be what C E is experiancing. Also, I'm with Xan. These pop-ads aren't that frustrtaing as they only appear on a clock. :)

Buck- The popbehinds are fine by me. I have a new hobby and don't spend as much time in here that I once did, and the sites I post on recently use much more annoying ways to pay the bills. I hope the ads are helping, and more(if needed) would not deter me from this site in the least. Keep up the great work-We apprieciate it. :D
