es3 has a huge land mass, deep role playing, and lots of quests
BG has great fighting, lots of blood and co op mode
having played both i like es3 better but dont get me wrong BG is a must play for any one who loves rpgs

Not to get entirely off-topic here... but your description of BG/BG2 is actually more applicable to the IWD series, which is heavily focused on battle and strategy.
Most people (at least those I've met here at GB anyway) love BG2 for the story, dialogue and NPC interaction.... As I mentioned above, it are these elements that I find Morrowind lacks.
However, I find I need to play Morrowind alongside BG2 or PS:T these days. I love the contrast of complete freedom of lovely graphics to the more structured style of the Black Isle games.

I have to agree with DW in that the IW series is known for being hack and slash style while the BG series is known more for the overall story. Take PS:T and add more combat and you have the BG series.
