I know this is an old thread, however, I would like to reply to it to avoid needless searching on others' parts like I had to do, due to incomplete information and supposition (like is even being made here---highlight text underneath here for *spoiler*).
Spoiler
If you question Sunry about the video tape found in the Republics' Enclave computer, he ADMITS to the murder of Elassa while she slept. He simply will not ADMIT to it in court because he believes that the ability for the Republic to maintain their supply of kulto would be lost if the truth came out and he can't live with that as a result. There is no further bantering back and forth about Sith Holocron's or some dark jedi following him out afterwards necessary.

The is no ambiguity, it's clear-cut. The only time morale plays into this is on OUR parts, to determine what we would do KNOWING the truth.
For anyone (like myself) who is just playing this game for the first time after all these years, you should know the above. However, if you do NOT want to know the real outcome and prefer to find out yourself, dont view the spoiler.

why would giving them the tape give you dark side point... if the tape proves that he is guilty... then isn't giving them the tape the honest and right thing to do? I would think its be the other way around, where you would get ds for with holding evidence...? no?

edit: just reloaded an old game...
an this time I did get him off...
Spoiler
basically by getting him to confess to me, after finding the recording, then pleading guilty in court, telling them that he confessed to me, though, he denied it...I guess honesty is the best policy
