Yes I use scripts for all the but hard battles. Easy battles are just a waste of time to tactically take control of every move. For the harder battles I take direct control of my characters. Battles vs masses of mid to easy level mobs is great for the AI script like the Saradush Barracks or the first test in the pocket plane.

I just use the basic melee and ranged scripts for the small battles. On the more difficult ones I actually enjoy pausing to think about a strategy and then put it into play myself. To me that's the whole point of the game but the small battles are just tedious.

I always have AI turned on; most of my party is using the Ranged script, it's working fine for me with the small battles. For harder battles, I still leave the script on, but take control of them when needed.
