Makes sense, but a tad more originality would be nice...
Doesn't necessarily have to be "known in the Realms as...", that's just my sig.

Dueling to ranger could be a problem because I'm playing half-elf. What is more I have always Jaheira (involved in romance) in my group, so having two characters with druid spells weren't convenient for me (Jaheira really couldn't be kicked off the party)

But I have such a charater on my HDD that could be always used (BG1 ToTSC char Cleric/ranger male half-elf).
Lately I have been playing F/M/C. Maybe it is an occasion to try something new ? (anyway J will be in my party)
I played him some time (I've reached BG ToTSC xp cap) So maybe this will fulfill all requirements.

I've found this ranger/cleric multiclass that was mentioned earlier, and after some simple calculations I've decided to play him (at 2995000 xp 13lev ranger/ 14lev cleric) so I will have the 7th cleric and druid spells.
I think it resolves the problem.

Why not do as I did, remove the xp cap. My soloing guy was a Ranger lvl 23 / cleric lvl 26 in the end.

There is one problem : If I want to play character with removed xpcap then I don't know the consequences when I will start to play this character in ToB. But maybe you have the right because I've tried to do such a character using shadowkeeper and the results were interesting : for BG2 ToB planned xp cap value = 8000000 we have ranger 21 lev / cleric 25 lev (3 7th lev spell slots). I belive that someone will write another xp cap remover for expansion to obtain higher levels.

With cap remover and spells tables the most intersting class could be : ranger/mage/cleric (all in one - fighter, mage, druid, cleric), but unfortunately it is not avaiable. So I have the small question : Is that determined by AD&D rules or the Bioware programers were just lazy ?

Hm, you are right about that an lvl 23 cleric would be a problem to import to ToB but I think I will just start a new character. Or put back the xp cap and play trough bgII once more with the char I want in ToB.

Hi guys!
Good to see you again. Whats been up?
Ranger/mage/cleric... you can play that in 3rd edition but not in 2nd.
I just hope that the ranger/cleric will survive into ToB they were not meant to have both cleric and druid spells I am sure.

To solve the XP thing:

If you want more spells without removing the XP cap, you'll need more WIS, to get bonus spells. Any character can legally have 25 WIS at the end of BG2 without too much trouble. That's a lot of extra spells!

pope, how do you legally get 25 wisdom? i know i think you could be added 1 wis point in hell, what about the rest?

and since ToB is expansion, (did you guys had trouble with ex cap for ToSC?). cos we don't import character in ToB, just start straight after beating irencius, , nothing should be changed, and i think the ex cap should be increased automatically. might be i am wrong
