@Ubik: yeah - the shinning was a kick*** book - I really like it. And the movie is also one of the better made over a King book.

The best by far - IMHO. Another good adoption of a S.K. novel is "stand by me". And also "Christin" wasn't bad.

Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me were excellent. I haven't read The Green Mile, but it had to be the best movie ever made from a S.K. book. The Running Man was the worst.

Forgot...I really like Robert Heinlein and Michael Moorc-o-c-k. The best book I've read recently was The Alienist, by Caleb Carr.

I forgot about the Green mile but, still, I think The Shining is by far better than that. IMHO that is.

Haven't read the Green Mile yet either - it lies in a pile of unread books - but that movie was greath.

Didn't like the movie of Christine.
But IMHO the worst movie over a King book was IT. I fell asleep

The Stand. They ruined the whole thing. IMHO

I just finished "Tales of the city" by Armistead Maupin.

I'm currently reading "A Bridge Too Far" by Cornelius Ryan (which has me in tears, soft sh*te that I am).

Next I am going to read Tim Pat Coogan's "The IRA: A history" or "The Naked and the Dead" by Norman Mailer (someone on GB suggested it - can't remember who, cheers anyway!).

When I finish my Machiavelli trip, I think I'll go back and read some more Shakespeare and some of Plato's writing(espacially 'bout Atlantis )

No, seriously i loved Steven Kings work (a lot !). I also read Crichtons, Star Wars Novels (Now i'm on Rogue Squadron series). BTW have any of you read Suntzu : The Art of War ? It's a very good book.

Well I was about to purchase Sun Tzu's - but went (for the time being) with Machiavelli' Art of War.

Is it good (Sun Tzu)?

Sun Tzu mainly gives you indepth analisis of how to prepare for war and how the situation on battlefield can be turned into your advantage. It's more like phylosophical book which if you can fully understand it you can use the principals on lots of things i.e. management, business etc. A very damn good book !
