The Hives- Hate To Say

Do what I want cause I can and if I don’t - because I wanna
Be ignored by the stiff and the board - because I’m gonna
Spit and retrieve cause I give and receive - because I wanna
Gonna get through your head,
its what the mystery man said - because I’m gonna

Hate to say I told you so - ALRIGHT
Come on
Do believe I told you so
Now it’s all out and you know
Cause I wanted to

Turn my back on the rot
that’s been planning the plot - because I’m gonna
No need for me to wait - because I wanna
No need to be too late – because I’m gonna

Hate to say I told you so - ALRIGHT
Come on
Do believe I told you so

Do what I please, gonna spread the disease - because I wanna
Gonna call all the shots,
all the no’s and the not’s - because I wanna

YEAHHHHHHHHHHH

Ask me once I'll answer twice,
cause all I know I'll tell – because I wanna
Sound advice and lots of ice,
I’ll spell my name out loud - because I wanna

OH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Neil Young's song re: 11 September

I know I said I love you,
I know you know it's true,
I got to put the phone down,
And do what we gotta do.

One's standing in the aisle way,
Two more at the door,
We got to get inside there,
Before they kill some more.

Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.

No time for indecision,
We got to make a move,
I hope that we're forgiven,
For what we gotta do.

How this all got started,
I'll never understand,
I hope someone can fly this thing,
Get us back to land.

Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.

No one has the answers,
But one thing is true,
You got to turn on evil,
When it's comin' after you.

You got to face it down,
And when it tries to hide,
You got to go in after it,
And never be denied.

Time is runnin' out, let's roll.

Let's roll for freedom,
Let's roll for love,
Goin' after Satan,
On the wings of a dove.

Let's roll for justice,
Let's roll for truth,
Let's not let our children,
Grow up fearful in their youth.

Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.

Well it's a translation from a chinese song, but one of my fave ;)

FORGET YOU FORGET ME

When you say you are leaving
I don't wish to wave back
Love in the end is blank
Who said our love have been in silence
Don't forget that I had you before
You had also loved me before

When you left in me
All those hurt that I don't want to accept
Love till the end is but a dream
Don't say that our world have too much difference
Just say you have forgotten about me
You are about to leave me

Who can tell me
Did I give out too much
Just take that I never had before
Or disappear in my heart

Who can remind me
My love don't have confidence
Just take that I never had before
Or forget about you forget about me

LOL, check out this song (sung by the same singer):

ROAD
This is one long neverending road
It doesn't have an end
Between heaven and earth
I'm finding
You and mine tomorrows
All happiness and saddness
All already is too far
When the sun rises
Future is just in front of my eyes

Countless times I wish to look back
Countless times I wish to cry
I tell myself
oh...I definetly will not admit defeat

In life this long road
There will always be setbacks
Sweat and tears
All threw behind our minds
Only wish in life this long road
You will forever be walking with me

In life this long road
Forever don't look back
Cry before and laugh before
Just let it go with the wind
Love before , also dream before
What do I hope for in life
Only wish in life this long road
You will forever be walking with me

Mini-competition: find the most depressing song...

Here's my entry:

Radiohead - Prove Yourself

I can't afford to breathe in this town,
nowhere to sit without a gun in my hand.
Hooked back up to the cathode ray,
I'm better off dead,
I'm better off dead,
I'm better off.

Prove yourself (x3)

I want to breathe, I want to grow,
I'd say I want it but I don't know how.
I work, I bleed, I beg, I pray,
but I'm better off dead,
I'm better off dead,
I'm better off.

Prove yourself (x3)

I'm better off dead,
I'm better off dead,
I'm better off.

Prove yourself (x4)

ONE GAME ONE DREAM

Don't talk about may separation
I wil not cry because of this
That is only a yesterday dream

Don't talk willing or uwilling
I will not mind because of this
That is only a yesterday game

That is only a game, only a dream
Although your shadow still appears in my eyes
In my voice, there's already long no you

That is only a game, only a dream
Don't leave the broken love here
In the two people world, it shouldn't have you

oh....why when it comes to leaving
Again say together again
Although now don't have you
I'm still myself

Say what feelings will be here forever
Say what I love you
Today, still don't have you
I'm still myself

This is "Get Up Stand Up" by Bob Marley

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right (3 times)
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight

Preacher man don't tell me heaven is under the earth
I know you don't know what life is really worth
Is not all that glitters in gold and
Half the story has never been told
So now you see the light, aay
Stand up for your right. Come on

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
(Repeat)

Most people think great God will come from the sky
Take away ev'rything, and make ev'rybody feel high
But if you know what life is worth
You would look for yours on earth
And now you see the light
You stand up for your right, yeah!

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
Get Up, Stand Up. Life is your right
So we can't give up the fight
Stand up for your right, Lord, Lord
Get Up, Stand Up. Keep on struggling on
Don't give up the fight

We're sick and tired of your ism and skism game
Die and go to heaven in Jesus' name, Lord
We know when we understand
Almighty God is a living man
You can fool some people sometimes
But you can't fool all the people all the time
So now we see the light
We gonna stand up for our right

So you'd better get up, stand up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight.

This was one of the strangest 1-hit wonders of the eighties and the words were heavily techno-ized and repeated sometimes which gave the song a unique feel to it. I liked it, but it isnt a very well known song, so I decided to just go ahead and post the lyrics to it. I would be surprised if you ever heard this song before. Its about the Vietnam war. It was Paul Hardcastle's only hit: "19"

In 1965 Vietnam seemed like just another foreign war,
but it wasn't.
It was different in many ways, and so were those that did the fighting.
In World War II the average age of the combat soldier was 26...
In Vietnam he was 19.
In inininininin Vietnam he was 19.
In inininininin Vietnam he was 19.
In inininininin Vietnam he was 19.
Nininini Nineteen

(TV announcer's voice)
The shooting and fighting of the past two weeks continued today
25 miles west of Saigon
I really wasn't sure what was going on (Vet's Voice)

Nininini Nineteen, 19, Ni-nineteen 19
19,19,19,19

In Vietnam the combat soldier typicaly served a twelve month tour of duty but
was exposed to hostile fire almost everyday
Ninininininininininin 19 nininininninin 19
Ninininininininininin 19 nininininninin 19

(TV announcer's voice)
In Saigon, a US military spokesman said today
more than 700 hundred enemy troops were killed last week
in that sensitive ???border??? area.
Throughout all of South Vietnam
the enemy lost a total of 2689 soldiers.

(Singing Girls)
All those who remember the war
They won't forget what they've seen...
Destruction of men in their prime
whose average was 19
Dedededededede-Destruction
Dedededededede-Destruction

According to a Veteran's Administration study
Half of the Vietnam combat veterans suffered from what Psychiatrists call
Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder
Many vets complain of alienation, rage, or guilt
Some succumb to suicidal thoughts
Eight to Ten years after coming home almost eight-hundred-thousand men are
still fighting the VietNam War

None of them recieved a hero's welcome

(single words in different voices)
Nineteen - Saigon - Vietnam - Purple Heart

I really wasn't sure what was going on (Vet's Voice)

Strange song, eh? It has a great beat, and very modern for 1985. Thats probably why it only hit #30 on the charts, it was too modern for its time. :D

If the lyrics are too confusing, its about the war of Vietnam, the average age of a soldier that died, the fact that the veterans werent recognized upon their return, and nightmares that still haunt the veterans.

I guess nobody knows this song. :(

A nice little song, which I never really noticed until Georgi pointed it out.

Whatever Happened To My Rock'N'Roll [punk song]-Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

You want a part of me
You want the whole thing
You want to feel something more than I could ever bring
You want it badly
You want it tangled
I want to feel something more than I was strangled

I fell in love with the sweet sensation
I gave my heart to a simple chord
I gave my soul to a new religion
Whatever happened to you?
Whatever happened to our rock'n'roll?
Whatever happened to my rock'n'roll?

She wants it hallow
She wants it tainted
She wants to feel something more than she was naked
You want to hide away
You're scared to touch it
I want to feel something more than I care to take

I fell in love with the sweet sensation
I gave my heart to a simple chord
I gave my soul to a new religion
Whatever happened to you?
Whatever happened to our rock'n'roll?
Whatever happened to my rock'n'roll?

She wants your image
She wants your kiss
She wants to get inside your head and tell it like it is
You want it badly
You want it so completele
I want to feel something more cos I can't f***in' breathe

I fell in love with the sweet sensation
I gave my heart to a simple chord
I gave my soul to a new religion
Whatever happened to you?
Whatever happened to our rock'n'roll?
Whatever happened to my rock'n'roll?

A Classic. But the sound is much better than the lyric.

America- Horse with no Name

On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...

After two days in the desert sun
My skin began to turn red
After three days in the desert fun
I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...

After nine days I let the horse run free
'Cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
there was sand and hills and rings
The ocean is a desert with it's life underground
And a perfect disguise above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...

This for our beloved High Tyrant. :D

Voltaire - When you're evil.

When the devil is to busy,
and death's a bit to much.
They call on me,
by name you see,
for my special touch.
To the gentlemen I'm Miss Fortune,
to the ladies I'm Sir Prize,
but call me by any name,
anyway its all the same.

I'm the fly in your soup,
I'm the pebble in your shoe,
I'm the pea beneath your bed,
I'm the bump on every head,
I'm the peel on which you slip,
I'm a pin in every hip,
I'm the thorn in your side,
makes you wiggle and writh.

And it's so easy when your evil,
this is the life you see,
the devil tips his hat to me,
I do it all because I'm evil,
and I do it all for free,
your tears are all the pay I'll ever need.

While there's children to make sad
While there's candy to be had
while there's pockets left to pick
While there's grannies left to trip
down the stairs i'll be there,
i'll be waiting round the corner
it's a game. i'm glad i'm in it
'cause there's one born every minute

And it's so easy when your evil,
this is the life you see,
the devil tips his hat to me,
I do it all because I'm evil,
and I do it all for free,
your tears are all the pay I'll ever need.

i pledge my allegiance to all things dark
And I promise on my damned soul
to do as i am told, Lord Beelzebub
has never seen a soldier quite like me
Not only does his job, but does it happily.

i'm the fear that keeps you awake
i'm the shadows on the wall
i'm the monster they become
i'm the nightmare in your skull
i'm a dagger in your back
am extra turn on the rack
i'm the quivering of your heart
A stabbing pain, a sudden start.

And it's so easy when your evil,
this is the life you see,
the devil tips his hat to me,
I do it all because I'm evil,
and I do it all for free,
your tears are all the pay I'll ever need.

and I do it all for free,
your tears are all the pay I'll ever need.

it gets so lonley being evil
What i'd do to see a smile
even for a little while
And no one loves you when you're evil
i'm lying though my teeth
and your tears are all the company i need.
