@Mr Sleep: I don't like the looks of them. :D

Actually, because I hate having so many icons on desktop, I created a few holders and put short cut icons in them (unless, of course, they have to be on desktop, such as "My Computer" and "Recycle Bin"). Now, there are many basic holders on the desktop, and I want to change according to the contents.

Okay :) If you want to change a programs icon you should be able to right click on that shortcut, there should be a shotcut tab, once on this one can click on change icon. Then use the browse button to find your relevant icon :)

You can change the recycle bin my computer etc, but that is slightly more complicated :)

@Mr Sleep: Thanks. :) I'm going to try that... now. :D

Of course, I'm busy reading books and writing the trade routes in the 16th century at the same time.... :o <excuse, excuse...>

@Minerva - you could always drag your shortcuts into your toolbar then delete them from the desk top :)

Hi Josh :)

As Mr Sleep said, right click on your desk top shortcut and go down to properties. Select the short cut tab and click on the button to change icon :)

Some short cuts will not allow you to change the icon...

Heya Ysh.

I meant the folders that aren't shortcuts. When I right-click them I get tabs for General and Sharing.

Josh Hi :)

In answer to your question:

You should be able to change the recycle bin etc if you right click on desktop, go to the effects Tab and then you should have the main suystem icons to change, just click on the one you want and then click on the button marked change icon :D

Hope that helps :)

Mr Sleep, thank you for the help. I'm downloading more icons. :D

I'm going to change Outlook Express and Internet Explorer next. They are two of the most boring... :D

It's fine, except my Crush Guard. For some reason, it appears red (=problem/frozen program), when I open both Outlook and IE with another program (even Word or notepad). It happens even when there's nothing wrong, and I don't know what's causing it.

Quite often Crashguard itself can cause problems, i have never noticed a system - with crashguard - that has acted with stability, first thing to do IMO is to remove crashguard.... unless it has saved you in the past? :)

It did save me in the past a few times, but I don't know if it actually made difference as I often use Alt+Cntr+Del. :D And, yes, I agree, the crashguard often freeze everything and makes matters worse.
