AAARRRRGHGHGH!!!!
Hello to all of you!
It has been a while, sorry; work and other obligations hampered my posting ability...
My eyes have seen some things that beg for an answer:
---you have outrun the main forum, does this mean that the old spammesr increased their spamming or are there new spammers on the block?(last time I posted this forum wasn't even past ten thousand!!!)
---donation thing:is Gamebanshee in some sort of financial trouble?

You are right that wouldn't be dark matter. It would be called a black hole. Image

You know something about astronomy...what's your opinion on the existance of dark matter?
Clever answer, for sure...

Only thing I know about dark matter is it is material in space which does not transmit light, such as black holes and machos. Therefore it cannot be seen by usual means. More than 90% of the universe is thought to be made of dark matters.

Regarding dark matter:
---some dark matter may exist of baryons(protons and neutrons),but the total amount of baryonic matter cannot comprise more than roughly 6% percent of the total mass of the Universe(Big Bang nucleosynthesis constraints)
---statistical analysis of microlenses indicates that only 19% of the mass of the Milky Way can be explained by MACHO's
So the remainder must be nonbaryonic matter. Suggestions: distinction between hot and cold dark matter:
---hot dark matter, primary candidate:massive neutrinos(leptons),moving with relativistic velocities
---cold dark matter, primary candidates:WIMPS(Weakly Interacting Massive Particles),hypothetical, slowly moving particles...

Here Omar welcome back. Here's the low down:
I use to be Melosh
Yes, Buck is taking donations for GameBanshee.
Aegis is now a Drow in the Akathla thread.
Weasel is in limbo with his server, so sometimes he's on and not on.

Well Darkpoet, I do not understand you!
You used to be Melosh??What happened to him/you?
Will Gamebanshee close down? Is banner clicking not enough? How big is the shortage?

Y'know, DP, it's sad, but that is about all that's happened, substantively, in the last month. Nice summary. Image

I had to change a few things computer wise, so I changed my name.

As I know of GBanshee is fine now. Buck is just not getting the advertisements so he went to donations, because he knew that now everyone could pay if he went on membership payments.

Hi minerva! I remeber you: you are the Japanese girl in London studying Mediterranean ecology I believe.
Saigo is new for me though. Hi Saigo!

Omar, I've asked Buck how much, but gotten no answer. Not really our business, anyway. It's not necessarily a shortage -- Buck has been in the red all along. I think Flagg was the one that pointed out that Buck pays and we enjoy. It's only right that we help out if we can. The donations might help enough that nobody ever has to pay a real fee. Check a couple of the topics from 2 or 3 weeks ago.

BTW, Nice to meet you. Image

Goodnight to all of you! Be sure to have your mama tuck you in and your papa read you a bedtime story (playboy/playgirl articles perhaps?)
Good morning everyone! Anyone something to say about the dark matter content in the Universe?
Another candidate for it is the hypothetical particle called 'axion'. As always in particle physics, they haven't discovered it yet but already now its rest energy and other characteristics; inferred from the laws of quantum mechanics so to say...
Is this the right attitude? First postulating something and then looking for it or just focusing on the observational facts first and putting less emphasis on laws?
