BTW a toad familliar will give +2 CON bonus in case people didn't know (at least acording to generic 3.ed rules)
But then again - who wants to travel with a toad

Niki, Niki, Niki... When are you going to get it through your bruised melon that the goings on of mages are no concern of the common warrior??? (pssst... Xandax... you got the liquor, right?)
All of our talk of spell components, wiggling our fingers about, and wearing robes that look like dresses is sure to bore you to death! (pssst... hey guys, how's the water in our hot-tub?)
Now, Niki, we don't bother the "Mighty" warriors to teach us how to swing a blade, do we? We don't want to learn how to use a shield do we??? Just leave the magic "tricks" to us mages, and go batter the trunk of that tree like a good lad, would ye??? (pssst... does that Hooters waitress have real ones or fakes??? Awwwww, who really cares anyways... I LIKE 'EM!!!)
"Think on this, arrogant mageling: even the mightiest archmage has no spells strong enough to let him cheat death. Some take the road of lichdom... a living death. The rest of us find graves, and our dust is no grander than that of the next man. So when next you lord it over some farmer with your fireballs, remember: we all master spells enough to die"

I would have to agree that membership in a wing should be restricted to that of your first class.

Yeah, and did you notice how I chose to associate myself with the magi wing?
Though admittedly this place is going downhill... *casts death spell: hooters waitress* Ooops, was that me? My hand must have slipped, how careless of me...
I think multiclass characters (how is mc going to work in NWN, anyway?) should be allowed to choose their wing. I mean, if it works the same as dualclassing, then you end up having better levels in your second class... so why be restricted to the guild for the first class? If you can only gain levels in one class at a time, maybe be in the wing for that class, and swap wings if you dualclass?
*Creeps in, sticking to the shadows, and opens a nearby locked chest with the label "Xandax's Stuff" swiping three scrolls and 11 gold pieces before closing the chest and exiting as quickly as he entered*
Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.
Who's letting in all the Riff-Raff over here!?!?!?
Heve we settled on each wing being responsible for their rank names? If so, how about the following...
1 High Mage
5 Wizards
rest of the members are Apprentice level
Any thoughts on this?

A voice from the shadows is heard: "maybe you should put wards on the doors"

(fumbles for his wand)... Dagnabbit!!!! I thought I did have wards up! Oh, maybe that was wards surrounding the Hooters chicks over in yon hot-tub so they couldn't leave. hmmmmmm... so confusing....

Enter a tall, striking Elf male, clad in dark garments...

Greetings fellow mages. I'm Xyx, your friendly neighborhood Sorcerer
oO0(friendly, if you stay on my good side, that is...)
I am unconcerned with petty issues such as swapping spells and scribbling grimoires.
oO0(since my blood has boiled with magic from the moment I was born...)
I hope to see my fellow Guildmen stay above pettiness befitting of our Rogue colleagues. Trading spells should be done for the greater good of the Guild, not for mere cash.
oO0(though no skin off my nose if you don't...)
What's a talented man to do with his spare time here when poring over dusty parchment is not his 'thing'?

About the Familiars... Looking at the PnP stuff, Humans seem to have a good deal in the Owl if low-light vision makes it into the game in a more usable fashion than BG's infravision. Otherwise, I'd go for the Toad (+2 Con).
And... one other tiny issue. Stoneskin has been severely toned down. It now lasts 10 minutes per level, does not offer complete protection (instead reduces damage by 10 points each hit until 150 damage has been dealt) and costs 250 Gold Pieces of diamond dust per use.
How are material spell components handled in NWN? Should be one of our primary concerns, I think.

Not bad for a level 11 spell! No, really, using metamagic means having to memorize a spell in a slot that is one or more levels too high... No metamagic for level 9 spells.
Quickened spells are pretty awesome. They replace BG's Spell Sequencers. Only problem is that they take up a slot four levels higher... Still, an instant Magic Missile isn't too shabby for a level 5 spell.

ooohooo!! i've found the place for magi!!! those thieves are no use for help, and me thinks one took me favorite dress.. err.. robe. i'll just go introduce myself to the hooters waitresses that are left... no more death spells plz. i dont get it.. do i HAVE TO give u my stats? i cant just decide on it now?
swapping spells.. if there's no limit on the number of spells one can have then lets all just exchange back and forth so we got the most powerful mages in all of Myth Drannor(pre downfall).
oh.. and as far as name.. i think i like the ring of "Xavier Retsminel" let's see who's smart enuff to figure that one out..

Fair enough, but you still don't get to have a pointy hat
