"Think on this, arrogant mageling: even the mightiest archmage has no spells strong enough to let him cheat death. Some take the road of lichdom... a living death. The rest of us find graves, and our dust is no grander than that of the next man. So when next you lord it over some farmer with your fireballs, remember: we all master spells enough to die"

I like to think my fellow mages and I are a civilized lot. At least, I am usually civilized... except for that time when I razed a quiet little hamlet outside of Detroit... hmmmmmm... that WAS kinda fun...

Hmm - so this the new area - pfeee, whom among you magelings has spells I can copy.
</ic>
Actuall I have news regarding mages:
It seems that mages can copy spells out of each others spellbooks if they wish.
This could indeed spark a bit of trade between the members of the wing.
Also I've learnt that it will cost 100 GP per page to write a spell in your book - and each spell takes 2 pages per level.
<IC>
Aye - we need the fighters to get us some gold to spendt
</IC>
Also there is a difficult check for when writing spell in your book.
It will be a DC of 15 + level of spell. I don't yet know what skills one need to lower this/help that roll - but after what I've read their will be a spell that eleminates this DC.
<IC>
Now - give me my due reward for this information
</IC>
P.S: IC means in character

I am always looking to pad my spell book. What exactly do you mean by "It will be a DC of 15 + level of spell"??? What's a DC?
The idea of trading spells will make this guild wing a lot of fun!

Other than money - but we must also remember that RPing a mage we would be very secreative about our books and if I gave you a spell to copy and you did - and you then in return gave me one and I failed - would you still give me a chance more
Also after what I've read, a mage can scribe scrolls, so we can sell scrolls instead to each other.

Oh
yes, I forgot about the money part...
Let me see... you give me some money to copy from my spellbook. You fail. Do I accept more of your money so you can try again? Hell yeah!
That's business
Seriously though, since we're in a guild, we should all be working together, and it would benefit the guild as a whole for the mages to have a better selection of spells. So of course we ought to share.

Who, me?!?
<IC>
Ye have high thoughts about ye peers, mageling
But I hope we share secrets, the brotherhood of mages must prevail in dangerous times
</ic>
Of course we should/would share, but RP-wise I still see that it will definatly be much for something.
BTW the gold it cost to write in a spell in your book will not go to any other person (AFAIK) it will simply dissapere.

Hmmm, it would make more sense if mages could charge other mages for copying from their spellbook, don't you think? It doesn't really make sense otherwise...
Who, me?!?
But of course they can - the other cost is just a generic cost to put spells in your book.Originally posted by Georgi:

There is nothing against you telling me that you want 9000 GP for letting me copy this first level spell in your book

Ye be a greedy one, mageling

Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.
