An orang-utan. As Terry Pratchett says, the world can always use more orang-utans. And I could handle living in trees all day and eating bananas.
Also they're heavily endangered so one more would be a good start, and besides, who doesn't think the Librarian of the Discworld is cool?

Actually, for a serious answer, I'd have to say a Raven. It is by far my favorite bird (Peregrine Falcon makes a close second), and it is my call sign IRL, and on any Online game where I must pilot something (MechWarrior, Janes Flight Combat Sims, Crimson Skies, Star Lancer, X-Wing Alliance, etc...)

Any animal apart from a human

I'd choose an Albatross and soar the skies. However until we develop a technique to transform us into birds or grow wings giving us the capability to fly, then a human I shall remain.

Hmm - well this might sound boring to you guys but apparently the longest living organism is the world is the Bristlecone pine that can live for about 4000 years. I am just really curious too se what happens in say 500 years even 3000. So half man half Bristlecone pine.

What it has to be animal?

Hm, nowadays the line between plant and animal is not as clear as we once thought....althought I am not totally convinced the Bristlecone pine can be classified as an ambigous case...

The problem with many plants as I see it, is that they don't move around a lot. Kelp doesn't seem too funny. I think I'd like to be half human half one of those moving, ant-eating plants that live on the mezas in South America.

I have to agree with Ode on orangutans, but I'd like to be a rich orangutan......cruising the town, with one hand on a banana, the other on the steering wheel of a Porsche.

Obviously you and Dottie know something about interspecies breeding that I don't....

Presuming I could move around, I'd like to be half one of those huge beautiful carnovorous flowers that grow in Amazonas. Then I could eat Dotticuisine without legal or moral consequences.

OK, the sledgehammer it is, but there is of course a risk too many hits will make you think more like Dottola.

Without moral consequences? Perhaps since I have more experiance in the area I should tell you that such a hybrid will be sentient.

Technically, as morals are personally defined, you could eat Dottie without moral qualms, and if you don't get caught there won't be any legal reprisals either.
