Besides, I think the hack-n-slash formula has pretty much played itself out in Diablo and Diablo 2. I can't imagine other substantial additon/innovation/renovation that can be added to the series. I think Blizzard should stop with the D2 expansion. The Diablo legacy is pretty secure at this point, having become a uber-popular action game series that's addictive and fun to play online.

Personally, I highly believe that Blizzard will make a Starcraft sequel. There are loose ends that can be tied up in a sequel. They could work with Raynor's story, the Xel'Naga, and perhaps finally resolve the conflict between the three races and have a winner so to speak.

I'm pretty sure the Zerg kicked the crap out of the UED United Earth Directorate). As for the Protoss, they're left licking their wounds. But, aside from that, there is potential. As you said, Raynor's story is a possiblilty, as is the Xel'naga, and Zeratul's forces. I'm not sure what could be done with Kerrigan, as she is pretty much established as the Zerg queen.

Also, there was that bonus mission which tells of some weird Protoss/Zerg cross breed. Something tells me a new uber race was planned.

I personally would love to see another Star Craft come out, only make the Terran remenants have a different style army then the UED (and include them both as playable races) and include the cross breed race.

actually, the UED originally kicked the crap out of the zerg. it took the combined zerg, protoss, and terran alliance to destroy the overmind controlled by the ued. but then soon after Kerrigan betrays everyone, gains full power of the zerg, and starts on her transcendance to be queen of the universe.

but alas, do you think the UED would send its toughest on one mission, while leaving their home ill prepared? I think not, I would think that they would save the best at home base. also the terran alliance is supposed to be primitive compared to the UED, storywise, not gameplay wise, so there could be numerous untold of technologies that they have stored at homebase.

but this is my own biased opinion. dont mess with Earth :D
