nalia, jan and imoen...

nalia-

advantages....best str of the 3, in the beginning she can pack more stuff for the party...not an inconsiderable fact until you get a certain item that makes inventory a breeze...her ring gives her excellent fire protection, a robe of fire resistance makes her immune to fire...useful tactically...

disadvantages...her trap dectection is acceptable, but her unlock, which means how well she can unlock and disarm traps is bad...one of her ring slots is unusable, which means that you can only give her one enhancing ring...but her family ring is very powerful in itself..

imoen-

advantages-her unlock skill is very good indeed, she is acceptable for the trap disarm and detect traps and open chests for the entire game...she really is all the thief you ever need thru the game...she is very fun and cute as a button, and just all around nice npc...very easy to like..

disadvantages- her strength is low, and until later in the game, with many str enhancing items are availible, she can barely tote her necessary equipment...

janny-

advantages...best thief in the game, he will actually level up as you play, and when he gets high enough, his special abilites are amazing...very powerful magic user, with the one extra spell per level of a specialist mage...really a fun and funny npc

disadvantages....turnip stories... :p

LOL
Actually I kinda like them ;)
Thanks, now things are more clear for me :)

Why does Minsc get yellow when goes berserk?

Yellow circles

He goes yellow because he's not under party control: friends - and enemies - who are feared go yellow, as do friendlies who fail morale or are otherwise transferred to script control (but not hostile) When the berserk state ends, he will go green again - while berserk, he's somewhat under the computer's control.

But he attacks me as well. Then what's the point of "berserk" ability? In this situation he becomes my sworn enemy. Plus I can't switch his weapons, more often he becomes an easy prey...

I never use Minsc's berserk ability but the way to use it if you do ude it is to make him charge a whole group of ppl by himself and then just sit back and watch him slaughter them (or become slaughtered), the loss of control is IMO to great a loss to account for the ability bonuses....

well i rlly hope that all helped but i also thought.....

umar hills theres some chickens there rite?
kill all of them and 1 of them has got a precious stone which is worth a hell lot of money

P.S
wotever you do save your rouge stone for later
ull need it 4 a special secret in the bridge district
u go 2 a door and u get suked in to a place with vampires n a lich with 3000 gp , 20 000 exp and staff of the magi

i think in the temple district theres a compound near the radiant heart- go in there n battle these hardcore dudes- 1 of them has the celestial fury with him and well the better items u have, the easier it is 2 win

also in the irencius dungen try get up to 1000( i no i actully got 1300) when u get out go 2 the vale inn
ull get stud +1, fullplate, beserk sword, clck of non detection and good XP
and the slavers quest in the slums is worth your while 4 the mana bow

4 more good armour n good items
go 2 bridge district n go talk 2 cap.t arat at the other inn near the bottom of the map

but dunt forget trademeet. it was the best quest in the game and so was the d'arnise quest.

also if u r planing 2 mape a multiplayer party heres the best selections

2 fighter /mage 1 monk fighter/mage
1 fighter/cleric 1 sorcerror
1 cleric/mage 1 assassin
1 cleric/ thief 1 cleric of lathander
1 mage thief 1 cleric of helm

make all human n dual class

also if ure wondering wot kinda combination 4 a party well
ull always need at least 2 fighters ( monks, barbarians)etc
maybe 1 high lvl full class mage but its good 2 have a thief n then dual class 2 mage
1 or 2 clerics as 4 healing and protection
bards in my opinion r time wasters as they suk with spell casting n r weak and just a pathetic class- i would replace a bard normally with a elven archer (ranger archer)***** stars in bow, with hide in shadows etc and charm animal and some spells its worth it.

as 4 races :
1 fighter - Dwarf , Half Orc - dwarves make good beserkers and half orcs make good barbarians
2 Mage/thief- Human
3.Cleric- It might be a good idea 2 have a half orc as a priest and/or a Halfling ( too balance it out)
4.Archer- Elf

thats some more ideas

Rather than slaughter a poor farmer's chickens you could just buy it off him, this of course depends on whether you are good or evil. You can sell the Beljuril but I believe it has some other use in the game such as an item upgrade, am I mistaken?

I believe that the Mana bow is actually found much later in the game, before Suldenesslar in a little cave.

And about the Beljuril, yes, you can use it in the upgrades of the Silver Horn of Valhalla, IIRC.

What happens if I don't rest when getting tired? I didn't notice anything wrong with the stats... They just keep on yawning and meowing...hm

There is a problem still. Those mind-flayers. How could I counteract their psionic powers? They killed all my chars! Doh I wouldn't have expected them to be so powerful. Should I mention I restarted the game? I just won't (I'm kinda ashamed of this defeat)

Now I got a new party and I'm SO proud of it! :)
Fighter
Keldorn
Minsc
Mazzy
Anomen
Jan

I intect to dual class my fighter (as a fighter/mage). At what level should I do that?

Thanks all :)

have ano cast chaotic commands on your fighters, then cast improved haste on them, jan, then have ano cast free action...

(if you cast free action, or equipp the ring you found in spell hold, AFTER improve haste, they will be improve hasted and still free action-ed)

free action will protect your fighters from stun, and hold and the chaotic commands will protect them from charm, sleep, etc...

(keldorn gets free action from his family armor...all he really needs is improve haste and holy avenger)

did you pick up some high level abilities yet???

if you like cheese...select g deathblow....mindflayers are below level 12, so improve haste someone with g deathblow and send them into the room solo...they will literally mow them down like crazy...and if you are lucky enough to get some arrows of detonation,  activate g deathblow, then fire the arrow into a mind flayer...EVERY other monster in that room, including mindflayers, umber hulks and others will instantly DIE! they'll drop like poisoned roaches...ehehhehhehehheh!!!!!!!!! warning, you can wipe out your own party that way too...either keep them out, or make sure they are level 13...

as for dual classing...may I suggest you look at berserker-dual to mage or kensai dual to mage? both offer significant advantages...a kensai mage is a pure killing machine, a berserker mage is an uber defensive fighter...enrage and chaotic commands makes you immune to almost all the disabling spells in the game..the kensai mage with his bonuses to hit and damage is an uber killer...I've heard you should dual immediately, after starting the game, or at level 9 or so...

you're a little low in magic, clerical and arcane....you might dump mazzy for aerie....or minsc for jaheira...aerie is a wonderful spell caster and cleric, and jae is a good cleric and fighter...

According to the manual characters can perform at peak efficiency for 24 hours, for every 4 hours beyond that they recieve a -1 luck penalty ( to all their rolls). So, don't put off resting for too long.

Yes, if you select the option in the GamePlay screen that shows your attack rolls, you will see the -1 when your characters get tired. This won't show up in their stats screen, just in the combat text area.

I build up my party, keeping this in mind:
2 fighters
2 rangers
1 cleric
1 mage/thief
I really enjoy this result, it's the first time I'm pleased since I started (& restarted) playing.
Well, Keldorn is not exactly what people call "a fighter" but he knows what's what, both with a sword and a crossbow
And yes, I consider Mazzy a ranger (who cares they say she's a fighter)
All in all, I am content. For now.
