I especially liked the ability to turn to the "dark side" and become a kingpin of the Pizza mafia.

That was kind of the idea of pizza tycoon, and probably also the funniest pizza's you could make:
Example: Mincemeat, Lobster, Lemon, Potato, and so on

You can make the most wacky combinations it's so much fun because the customers prefers the "disgusting" pizza's most of the time
@CM: Yeah I actually think it's gotten abondonware, but I'm not sure where to find it, try here
The Underdogs great abandonwaresite by the way

But the nice thing about all those ingredients is that beneath it all, there was a really well-structured game. You could poll eight different customer groups who would tell you their opinions of different pizzas you made, for example. It was a fine combination of whimsical fantasy and elements of realworld economics. Usually, the two have nothing to do with one another.

Can I buy some ice cream?

I never quite understood why the mafia would use inuendo on that one. Good game though.

Yup I know, was just making fun of the idea of "put-all-you-want-on-your-pizza" idea

It's quite true what you say about the fantasy and economy too. Normally I would not think it a good idea, but in this case it's actually works

so all in all I think we all agree it's a great game
ROFL, is it even possible to use cheese in that game?
A friend of mine came over a few weeks ago and the sega refused to work. So we downloaded a sega emulator and the game and played it on the PC
Not cheese, but the neverfailing tactic... We even had a copybook somewhere to put down the stratgies...
