OK, so your definition of spirituality does not necessarily involve transcendent aspects?

Absolutely not! No, you need no higher power; you need nothing outside of yourself to be spiritual. It is an intensely and completely personal and individual thing.
Edit for spelling - oops!

Hm, I wonder if the difference is more on an interpretation level - ie it might be similar experiences but people chose different concepts depending on their own reference system?

LOL

In my explanation on the last page I was polite enough not to mention you only need to take if your grades suck!

Opportunist!

So what educations are you interested in?
Sleep and sheep - can't risk to break the forum rules, but there is this saying: "Everybody has their own ways to gain happiness"...
Love for sheep can express itself in many ways...and Sleep and Weasel have experienced most

Well, I AM, after all, a beer-brewing monk! Nothing goes quite so well with a beer and a philosophical discussion than a good pipe!

But you could brew it without drinking it...
@CE very delicate explanation there

Ah - that means you agree with some other papers I'm reading about the development of the concept about spirituality, whereas the temporal lobe people use the word to denote a mystic meaning - spiritual and mystic seem synonymous.

Yes, but WHY would one brew it without drinking it!? It's God's work, and I feel closer to Him when I have a good pint in my hand!

Good! Then perhaps my thinking on how to interpret these studies are not totally off
Thank you

I did my best to be tactful, but the topic is indeed difficult

Spiritual and mystic are NOT synonymous. IMHO. Let me back-track and explain somewhat further:
To know what is good and right (virtuous, I called it earlier), one must put forth a great deal of effort into philosophical thought and contemplation.
When one has determined what is good and right, then one must act to uphold those things.
When one acts to uphold what is good and right, one is acting in a "spiritual" manner, and is exercising their "spritual" side.
Make any sense?
Georgi, another pint, please!

In that case, I guess you probably want another refill...
