Pusher II - Danish dogma-style by Nicholas Winding Refn.

Not a dogma-movie, but featuring a similar style. The movie is about the pathetic small time criminal Tonny, who just got out from jail and regroup with his old mates in a world full of miserable loosers. No special effects, no "coolness factor" in violence, no glamour, no heroes, no romantisism. Just a heap of small time gangsters in Copenhagen, having a generally miserable time. The story is driven forward by character development. Mads Mikkelsen plays Tonny, excellent as always.

Even though this is not an especially good film it still has everything I like about Danish film and lacks everything I dislike with Hollywood productions.

6/10

Here are some of the movies that I watched in the past summer, and which left a good impression on me, be it because the picture was funny, suspenseful, moving, or a bit of each of the three things:

Lost in Translation
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
The Game
Man on the Moon
Ali
Insomnia
Buffalo '66
The Royal Tennenbaums
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Zoolander
