I can imagine. It makes me think it would be very much like newcastle is some respects - quire rural in parts, industrial run-down and poor in others.

And Yorkshire What is amazing really, is outside of the major cities, England is pretty much the same anywhere you go. Just consider the similarity of the countrysides of Yorkshire, Cornwall, Gloucestershire...other than perhaps the Fens which is pretty flat and boring, England can be a very pretty place.

A song for those of us that have left our home towns...sung by a Bradford band, but could be about Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham, Birmingham or any other major town...

I'm such a fan of New Wave Music in the 80's. I'm trying to find songs by The Care (Flaming Sword), Modern English (Ink and Paper) and The Wild Swans (Whirlpool Heart) but so far no luck

I am so into this band right now. I just started listening to them, and I like them a lot. Can anyone recommend other good Pink Floyd songs?

The older the Pink Floyd, the better, IMO. Always liked the album Meddle, also check out UmmaGumma and Atom Heart Mother. The Nile Song is awesome, I think it's on Meddle, could be on More? I can't remember back to those pot-infused high school daze...
