Just my oppinion, but what about a prequel?
Like something to do with Gorion's adventures with his former party during the time of troubles. Not sure how it would start, or where, but it would involve the Harpers, mayhaps even Jaheira and Khalid? Who knows, Gorion could have clairvoyent dreams about the future (he was supposedly a powerful mage). Maybe they could be on a quest to destroy some evil power while they were mortal?
Just my two cents.

I don't think you'd use Gorion as a PC. First, you'd get no choince in charactor class or actions, so it wouldn't be considered as an RPG.
Bioware wouldn't dare make it so that his history would spoil his father-like image to you. Most of us agree that we see the guy as a dear man who took you under his wing. Who'd want to ruin that image?

A Prequal would be even harder to make than a Sequal. Well, it'd be dead-near impossible! So unless you wanna tamper with some figures in the future, (which, many people don't), then our best bet is another game entirely after the Throne of Bhaal.

The best way to continue on with a new game, utilizing the past, would be the offspring of the main character. Even if you didn't romance anyone in the game, you can assume the child of Bhaal did eventually either settle down, or pulled off something his father did (imagine little armies of your main character's kids ;) ). Perhaps someone powerful wants to kill you, simply because you are somewhat related to Bhaal, and he/she sees you as a threat to their power. Or maybe that person is the spawn of another god that doesn't like Bhaal. If that were the case, the game could delve into other Gods' domains...etc., etc.

how bout the game starting out with the the character's village being destroyed by the bhaal spawn (yaga shura or etc) then when he learns that the character you played is the last surviving bhaal spawn, he goes on a crusade to get him.

then he learns that the bhaal spawn (your last char) layed a tavern wench in that village 12 years before.

then the whole Zelda thing goes up (you and your npcs growing up, having teenage fights etc)\

this can all be done in 3d?

In 3d? The Baldur's Gata saga was made with the Infinity engine: a 2D machine.

Besides, after a preview movie of NWN, I think I'd get sick if they used any other engine. I'm just fine with my flat charactors, thanks. :D

Hey,

I think that the best idea so far was to utilize new characters with the old, familiar characters making appearances in the game. In my opinion, there should be a return to old familiar areas, with new dungeons. For example, you could go back to Baldurs Gate or something but do different stuff in different buildings.

I don't think that a romance is really necessary. They age thing doesn't really work out. It could be a separate, loosely related character, like a child of Jon Irenicus's. Or someone you saved in the game, or their child. Hell, it could be a completely different person with no relation to SoA and just have old, familiar characters stop in. I would personally like to see Elminster in the game more.

It's not going to happen, I just hate to see my favorite series end.

Ahem, speaking from one who was bored enough to attack him, I can say it's a very short fight. Of course that was the 1st game. I'm not sure you can attack him in the second game.

He shows up during Jaheira's Harper mini-quest at the end, congratulating her on a job well done. Where he shows up is random, though for me it was at the Fighter Stronghold.

What if cyric and the other bad god guys got together and decided to kill the other gods or they raised baahl back as part of some plan or some thing(the details would get hammered out).

The Forgotten Wars Projects folks (Kelsey, Rowan and other mods) have a discussion on a post-ToB project as well.

Check it out here:

I'm not sure if it's evolved beyond the above thread yet, but Silverose seems to be taking it seriously. :)
