Hey, a reunion of metal drummers here!

@Scayde: too much of a compliment, really, you're exagerating :o
Things aren't that easy, I fear..
Well, being a musician may add, but it depends on how you play :D
Also girls don't like metal!
Also, I've been always most unlucky with the girls I cared for..
Then she's my dream, and dreams never come true, though we have to try nonetheless.

Last but not least I'm mentally sick, this doesn't help

Not at all.you are handsome, inteligent and witty....what more could a girl want..and you are also a musician !!!..Lots of girls do like heavy metal ;)

I was one :D

 According to you, Weasel is your alter-ego. And we all know Slyweasel is Weasel's alter-ego. Now, could you tell me *how* do you know about those products again?

@Scayde: I've never collected that many appreciations in a row! :o
you exagerate but thanx!*blushes*
So, you used to listen to metal... I was right to think highly of you!
*She* doesn't like it anyway :p
what more could a girl want..
A bass player?
Anyway, to this particular question (what women want) I've heard ALL kinds of answers!
I'll abstain... :D

@Osiris: Nice set! Zildjan, I see, top quality! Do you play still? What kind of songs?

Thread hijacked by drummers

Sorry I can't leave this unanswered :D

Well, I also love Manowar, and they have a crappy drummer. But you're wrong about Nicko.
His works appear easy but they're harder to emulate than, say, Portnoy's.
Probably you missed his greatest works too, which are surely in "7th son of a 7th son" and
in "Somewhere in Time".
It's simply impossible to play like that. I talked about it also with a professionist drummer,
who also has a recording studio, and he agreed, those two albums make you think that some nasty
tricks are used to record drums. But the point is, he does the same live.
Try to play the 10 minutes of "7th son of a 7th son" (exactly as they are) and then tell me..
And how I love his double shot with just one pedal!!
Took me years to just start studying it.. now I can a do it a little..

Anyway his strength IMHO is his musical taste. Always the perfect accent in the right place.
That's the work of a drummer, being a musician, not a mathematician
