I like to go to the casino from time to time. Out there in the sticks (

) there really isn't any other option, and people I know who went to school out there (ie- at Hamilton) occasionally went. However, most other casinos the age is 21, and consequently they give out free booze if you are playing at a table- not necessary, but nice!
Ah, to find a woman like that who understands our needs...
She's my girl. It was great, we got back from a funeral, and she was all in white on a hot day like 2 months ago right? Skin-tight white pants and a super tight white with black pinstripe top and heels. She looked HOT. She stopped traffic when we were standing in front of a pizza place. Every single male that drove by on that road, their heads just whipped right around and stared at her and slammed on the brakes. She was horribly embarrassed and I couldn't stop laughing. She said "please tell me they're staring at you and your long freaking hair!" and I was like "most definately staring at your wonderful rear cutie. We should go before I have to fight them off." She slapped me and ran to the car.
@ Cuch, they throw drinks at you for a reason you know.

I don't have the money, or the luck to gamble. I guess we might ditch canada, too expensive for a room and all of that. We're gonna go camping instead I think. Get wasted and BBQ all weekend. That's my element right there, grill and a bottle and some grub. I'm THERE!

If I had a car I'd join you- a bottle and a barbi sounds perfect. It's a long summer though...
Gambling, actually, is just entertainment. I've been luucky enough to do well at casinos thus far, and I haven't ever been hurt too bad. However, the one thing I do know is that the second I get chips, those colored pieces of plastic cease to be money and should be thought of as time. The longer I have those chips, the longer I get to play and be entertained. I also always go with friends. I don't want to go to the casino by myself; for me it is a social thing.

If we go near the casino...I think we have to be 21 to get in. I'd be the only one old enough to go. I would mind going in with just like $20 and having fun. I would expect it to be essentially a cover charge to get in and that's that. Not win anything. There's always the horse races if we get REALLY bored.

Wait... let me make sure- you just said that you would spend a spare $20 on something other than 1.75 L of cheap vodka...? Mag, do you have a fever? Have you hit your head recently?
As far as being bored, is there much else to do up there besides drink/party, cook, hang out and kill time? I know that growing up in a similar town, options were limited.

Very limited in the town I live in. Common hobbies for everyone under forty are to blow lines, smoke a bowl, get wasted and go to a bar. Sad isn't it? If you get away from the drugs....video games, internet, fixing cars, play guitar, stuff like that. There's just nothing to do besides bars and drugs around here unless you find something for yourself and a lot of people are lazy. Bars are the ONLY "night life".
It's about a 30 minute drive to the city, still, the only things there that are open late is Wegman's (grocery store if you're not from around NY and PA), and bar's. That's the biggest city around here, on par with Buffalo and Syracuse.
Yes I spend money on things besides booze!

Taking my girls out to lunch and stuff like that I do a lot. It's fun to just talk with them for the day and all of that.

I know exactly what you mean. Growing up (originally in upstate NY, later VT) was really boring. I think that's probably a reason I started gaming- I mean, what else was there to do? I know that I was partying and drinking and doing other assorted intoxicants by the time I was 15. It was fine at the time for me personally, but not for every one of my friends. It is kind of a bleak area to live in.

That it is, that it is.
UGH, my friends all do things "spur of the moment" and reality doesn't work that way. If this was just any other weekend, we'd be fine. It's the 4th of July weekend, and they want to do reservations now. except I won't have money until friday, and no one else will either. Now, since I'm the oldest, they want me to do the reservations...but no money till friday. If they'd have told me "we need a campsite for this weekend" two weeks ago, or three weeks ago, It'd be easy.
HIPPIES!

LOL! Dirty hippies man, what can I say? They're fun for parties and debauchery, bad for planning ahead. If you tell them that you need some money ahead of time for a drum circle you might get some money out of them

Great fun at parties, so long as you have your stuff, and they have their stuff. The whole "share everything" logic tends to be lopsided, with them sharing a fire, you and sharing everything else.
My friends are great for the most part, it's just their idea of planning ahead is "lets do something next month" and thats it. No reservations, no deciding what "something" is, or anything. Frustrating at times.
Now, I have to cheer Rachel up tonight because her life went to crap the last month or so and this was her vacation she was set on to unwind and destress and it's fallen apart on her.

I hear that. Usually, when situations like that occur, I follow the old KISS rule (Keep It Simple, Stupid). It is easy to turn what should be a relaxing experience into a stress-filled hassle. If you're looking for advice, don't put her in a situation where she'll feel like she has to do anything other than relax and be herself. I don't know the specifics of any problems Rachel is having (who is she anyway? A special-lady type?), but the hassles of planning rarely help people unwind.
If you don't have any money because of hippie friends, then just plan what you can afford. If it isn't what they want, well... it's their own fault. In my experience, even if they have nothing else, usually tend to have at least a moderately sized bag at all times, so it won't all be a loss.

It is easy to make it a hassle, we'll probably end up driving to the southern part of NY, middle of nowhere, camping down there and just doing a cook out. Chances are the little places in the middle of nowhere with nothing around them won't be booked you know?
She's just stressed. Job sucks, the owner's treat her like crap, sister is crazy and spreading lies that's making her look bad because her sister doesn't want the attention she's getting for making some really messed up decisions. Now her family is ALL over her case and ignore the fact the older sister has an eating disorder and slowly killing herself and ruining her husbands life. Not to mention just breaking up with her boyfriend she's had the past two years and he won't stop bothering her.
She's just at that point she's gonna snap soon and I can see it. I need to diffuse that situation before the girl does something stupid. I'm the person all of our friends run to when there's a crisis and if I don't help them with that, bad things happen with them, and I think that was her cry for help.
Time to get her wasted and make her laugh again I think.

They kept freezing, head to the new board with that link and I'll explain it more.
I want to get drunk and pass out until it's dark and cooler out but I've a feeling I'll need what little liqour I have left for Rachel later on tonight.
Sorry, didn't dissapear on you. My Rachel called me and took me away is all. Friday is Canada day, then we're seeing creedance's free show, then heading back to her place and getting wasted all this weekend. SCORE! She's calling up hotel's right now.
Umm, glad you like those songs hun.

Creedence? How they can even play without Fogerty is beyond me. Of course I'm assuming that given Fogerty's touring with John Mellencamp the long standing hatred between Fogerty and the rest of the band is still standing.

I've no clue about that to be honest. Still, free CCR show means drunken appearance by moi.

Whatever floats your boat man, new board.

Syb and I have to work out the rules and stuff, it has a filter....bah. I need to learn all over again how to adminster and use all the tools on that site now.

That sucks. My friend is being stubborn, I'm telling him to hold on and wait till I got there for me to help him. He sucks on RPG's.
