Waverly: I know gravity and energy aren't the same, but we measure gravity with energy, I don't know what it's all called in English. But isn't the energy involved in gravity what all those physics-problems I got in school were all about? (At what speed does this silly man falling out of the airplane hit the ground?)
If there wasn't any energy there wouldn't be gravity, right? (Minerva, you're not the only one getting lost here...)
Ubik: That is exactly what I mean, you call the death of a star destruction, but it's probably the start of the creation of something else. Or something along those lines... (bye, BTW )

The creation of the pyramids. Why can't we rebuild them? Who have actually build them?

We are on the same page, I see, Flagg.
We *could* build them with straightforward engineering and basic logic...but we have lost those skills. We tend to underestimate the skill and enginuity of ancient people...they were every bit as intelligent as us- they just lacked the accumulated knowledge base we enjoy.

I am glad that we are on the same page. However it is my opinion that we are not able to construct them as they did in that age, and we are not able to construct using current technology. BTW, I am not just talking about the Egyptian pyramids, but also about the ones in Southern America.Originally posted by Waverly:

Darkpoet: You're so sweet
(stargate... LOL)
Pyramids? I think it was an ancient people that built it... There was something about the sfinx too right? the head isn't the original one or something like that... so the body must be even older... maybe there was a civilization before the egyptians that got completely wiped out by some natural disaster... (or the wrath of god for all I care) I don't have enough background info to say something sane about all this.

@Chrissy: Interesting thing about the Pyramids is, there are many other pyramids other than the three in Giza, yet none are that big nor completed. They only appeared in the same dynasty and also perfectly aligned related to the mother Nile.

Are you saying that the pyrimids took some 'special' technology to build? Now you have lost the plot
We have this notion that if we can't lift a block with a huge crane it is unliftable...Bullsh!t....an earthen ramp and 1000 strong backs is a more robust approach despite this bias.
Signs that earthen ramps were indeed used have been uncovered.

I agree with you on this. But take a look at the Southern America ones. THere the stones are cut and placed in such a fashion that a paper can't fit in between. We are not capable of cutting stone in such a manor without laser. How did they do this? How were the Egyptians capable of placing the pyramids precisely in the right location? There are of course numerous of other questions.Originally posted by Waverly:
