AH Valentine's Day the only worse day I could think of would be Christmas, New Years or any of those happy go mushy together type things. These days are just calculated to drive certain people to suicide while staring at those starcrossed lovers kissing not a few meters from where you are standing. For every lonely heart, Valentine's Day is just one of those hellish sorta days, just reminds you that there are certain people happier then you are.
*He stares deep into the night and sighs, sips a whiskey on the rocks. It had been the second one he had that night.*
You people with relationships make me sick, do you know what I would go through to get but a minute of what you have or had. It is easier to have love then to never have loved at all. There is a emptiness inside, a dark abyss, you can never escape it, and staring at other people only makes it worse. Just a moment, a glancing wrench at the heart beating palipatingly inside, then would my soul be content, to experience love once would be to experience hope, even if love flees from me forever, then would I feel right.
*Takes a deep gulp of the shot, relishing the taste of it as it burns down the throat, maybe this one will make him forget.*
Philosophical note, yes people judge based on appearances, the better looks one has the better a chance of having relationships. No matter what people say it is always the appearance that matters, it is always what they say defines who you are and what you are. Appearances first then what's inside(maybe).
Love what a miserable illusion it is, something calculated to just make one despair, lose hope or worse have hope when there is none. Love that prize we seek, that fleeting shadow that we never find. It's image most pleasing, most easy to behold, to lovely to describe, then like a mirage in the desert it is gone.
*He staggers home drunk, slams the door angrily, and collapses on the floor unconscious, leaving hateful Valentine's Day for the lovers cavorting most pleasing, for hearts of passionable excess, and for mirages never touched but always wanted.*

I care not for endings or beginnings, but for the eternal and infinite spaces of the universe, and for the endless exploration of eternity, and mysteries which I will find plumbing the infinite depths.
"Do not turn inward to find peace and wisdom, turn outward instead to find liberation from the narrow boundaries of self", quote from Gary Paul Nabhan, paraphrased of course
"When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong" quote from Arthur C. Clarke, thought it was interesting.
Tips on living longer: eat right, exercise, and yes castrate yourself, eunuchs live longer then normal people.

Only bitter, single, perhaps vengeful, people allowed here. Here you drown your sorrows in a nice cold beer, or play the blues the night away, and indulge in terrible introspection perhaps to find comfort in the tales of other true tears and sorrows close to a broken heart.

@Georgi: so you're saying you are a bitter single person? Ah! Well, that's all right then. I just wanted to make sure we didn't have any illegals in the thread. Carry on.
