I forget how old I am, but I clearly remember playing Akalabeth (Richard Garriott's first offering) and playing Wizardry (when it first was released) for 1000+ hours.

I am 24, working for family's business, in Melbourne, Australia.

Studying at home to be an Accountant and partying in the weekend...

I am really sore because March is mad in Melbourne.
Fortnight ago was the Australian Grand Prix Image & parties
Then last weekend was Two Tribes Image in the the National Tennis Centre, Moomba Festival in the City and Circus Algeria.
This weekend I have to go to my friend's wedding, as well as more parties. Image
On top of that BGII most nights and studying/working the rest.

The next rest will be in mid-June went my exam is finished.

Well since this is such a hot topic I'll participate too. Im 29, Longshoreman, and have D&D all my life. I also play counter-strike when I need a break, or need to take out some frustrations, heh. I cant wait for Anarchy Online to come out. It sure is refreshing to see an older group playing. I think my girlfriend is finally going to start playing this game with me, maybe then i can finally get a romance going on in this game. I play a Archer religiously and thank god she loves the druids. Jaheria is just not getting me! *sniffs* have fun!
Just a ranger in love with druids,

I'm 20 years old and I'm a student in Computer Science at the Haagse Hoge School in Holland. Currently I'm an intern at KPN, a big communications company in Holland. Everyday when I don't really feel like working I check this message board to pass the time. Hope to become a member soon.

What the heck: I am 30, but STILL A STUDENT! My current majors are Mechanical Engineering and German, but I have had a few others before that . . . I started D&D when just a lad, and can remember playing Wizardry I on an old Apple!

Very well, if everybody is telling about themselves, I can say this: I am 25, I work for a very big Strategic Management / Investment Banking firm, I majored in Economics and plan to go to the MBA next year. I have a respectable girlfriend and a nice apartment in a very nice area of Mexico City (great view of the city). Most people in my line of work would never be called geeks or nerds, therefore I try not to give that impression.

However, what most do not know is that I am a total nerd. I am studying in an open system a second Bachelor's degree (for history). My main hobbies are reading, writing, playing paintball and roleplaying (both paper and computer). I also sit religiouly a couple of hours after work in front of my computer and play BG II. I was hooked to computers since 1990, when I bought Ultima VI and a couple of Sierra's games (Police Quest and Hero's Quest).

Ahhhhh, now I'm finding all the old Wizardry Players... I'm 33 but didn't start Wizarddry 'til "Bane of the Cosmic Forge," which I'm actually re-playing these days in preparation for the holy of holies: Wizardry 8. Someone asked a while ago for suggestions on other CRPGs, and Wizardry 6-7-8 would be mine. Wizardry 7 remains the best RPG I ever played (even better, in memory, than BGII) go get the Ultimate Wizardry Archives and Start from Wiz6, you won't regret it.

And, to further date myself: My first CRPG was Tunnels of Doom for a Texas Instruments PC ca 1980... Played Phantasia on a C-64, I think, and Played Ultima from the beginning through... I think 6 0r 7... quit when they changed the interface and went real-time...

oh, and last weekend, took my laptop to my Brother's house and played BGII with him and his wife til 4 am over a couple bottles of wine... sometime's life's too sweet...

I'm glad that @ 33 I'm not the oldest one around.
My current career incarnation is as a self employed IT project implementation consultant in the UK (have been in the past a programmer, desktop support, network admin, trainer, software consultant, project manager, plus a few others).
I do have problems finding time with long travel to work, a young family & a wife who thinks computer games are stupid (but she watched soaps so what does she know)!

I am a 45 year old married accountant who rides a VFR800i m/cycle to the office who cut his teeth on a Spectrum 48k, yes *48k* and played Elite non stop (Hence the user name, its the spaceship you fly for those mere sapplings who are saying "a Spectrum? what's that?") I normally play flight sims and BG2 is my first game of this genre and I am hooked. 2 points

If you have ever replied to one of my pleas for help thanks very much, if you have not thanks anyway, I have had a lot of help and tips to the replies you have given to others.

Did you notice this post started life in December 2000! How did it get resurrected??

i saw this post was from way back and i can't help myself....
18, HS student, going to Iowa state next year majoring in landscape architecture. Blasphemous as it may sound, I actually love both Baldur's gate II, and Diablo II, and play both quite a bit.

Oh well, I guess I can't resist either. It is kinda cool getting the background on all the people that help me out. I am 30 yrs old, and I am an inside sales rep for a window company. Not as interesting as a professor, but at least I can read all these posts pretty much all day. Like most of you, my wife goes "hostile" when I am on the computer. Even though I could care less when she is watching "much see TV". Fair trade in my opinion. I have a kid looking over my back the whole time trying to tell me what to do, so I havn't even finished for the first time yet. Hard to find that quality "me" time.

I am 43 and I am also a college professor (history). I have been playing RPG games since 1982 when the original Dungeon and Dragons game came out. I have played mostly with students but also a few of my colleagues. I started computer games on my old Tandy CoCo 16K machine. Oh my God, I just realized twenty years went by.
