what is Ninjutsu?

Post by Fullerton »

I didn't see anything in the weapon skills. I did a search, and came up blank.

I notice monk and Budoka get this skill, but I can't find what it is.

I also see that Samurai get duel light weapons. Does anyone know if this is a valid skill, or a waste? I do notice that you cant use a bow, for that is were the off-hand weapon goes (I am surprised it doesn't replace the shield). I figure I could always open my inventory when I want to equip a bow, unless you totally lose that skill, and then do the same when I want to use a duel weapons.

Thanks.

ninjutsu

well from my experience light dual wepons is far better than ninjutsu. ninjutsu is just fighting without a weapon very fast compared to a single hand weapon but it lacks the damage you could get with light dual weapons (even if using sucky weps). so if you had a choice i would go with light dual weapons if you want to melee but just to mess around with others ninjutsu looks awsome. especially with the jump kicks.

Ninjutsu is the ability to fight without weapons. I haven't had much experience with it yet, so I can't comment on its usefulness.

I love light dual weapons, and not just for aesthetic reasons (though it does look really cool). There is a substantial increase in damage dealt when you add a second weapon (I could imagine that medium dual weapons is that much better, though I haven't used it yet).

No, you don't lose archery (or anything else) in place of any other skill. By time you get the light dual weapons skill, ranged weaponry is an after-thought, anyway. You probably have increased your magic skills by then, and would rather use a fireball, anyway.

Ninjutsu is annoying because it doesn't have overhead attacks and sometimes it misses for no apparent reason even if the enemy is at point blank, while light dual weapons are 0wnage and can even lock up a fire drake or a Fiend of Ghazbu(ul)!

I think Ninjitsu is better for a magic using character. Melee characters there is better options. But for magic chars who don't have weapon skills as prerequisites you can kill trash enemies with ninjitsu and save all the points you need to spend to qualify for weapons. Well just take light weapons up to enough to equip a weapon good enough for the beginning.
