Fallout 3 looks so good

Post by pvon2 »

I just watched the hi-def trailers on my ps3 and it looks amazing. I love how they were able to keep aspects of a turn based game for those who aren't that great at shooters. I consider myself to be pretty good (COD4 saw to that) but I can definately see using the targeting thing to get out of a tight spot. I know alot of people are dissapointed by Van Buren being dropped but I for one couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

I didn't really like oblivion but I think the guns/modern setting of fallout3 lends itself much better to this type of game. 2 of my favorite games ever and BGII and Fallout 2, however when I go back and play them now I think they feel very dated (even with the resolution mods). I still enjoy playing them because of the freedom in choices and story but I think they could be so much more with a different style.

Is anyone else really excited for fallout 3 now that they have seen the e3 footage?

aiming at a target and pulling the trigger is a small part of combat.

even if you aim perfectly at the super mutant. you will miss every time if your gun skill isn't high enough, or your perception isn't up to par.

stalker is just an FPS i believe.

Actually according to the information I've got, gun skill only affects damage and just a bit how accurate you will be.

were did you read it? ive been getting my information from the preview demos from e3.

one article was stating how in RT combat he shot a woman 12 times before she would go down, and that though he aimed directly at the woman not all of his shots hit her. every time he pulled the trigger the dice rolled.

he found it incredibly harder to be effective in combat without vats.
