Hi all,
Has anyone heard of a bug that won't let you upgrade your strength through Vhailor? When I let him upgrade me, it says Strength +3, but then my strength on my character screen is unchanged. The really weird part is, then, when I level-up, my strength shows as 21 (upgraded), but it still is unchanged after I level up on my character screen.
Also weird is that it shows (before and after) as red 18 70/100, even though my strength is actually 18 and I am not wearing any strength changing gear.
Any help would be appreciated... I guess I don't NEED the strength, but I don't want to keep playing until I can get it.
Thanks!
Dave
Vhailor Strength Upgrade Bug
You should list all mods that you have enabled in case this is mod-related, so any mod authors can check for you.
But another possibility is the fact that Planescape is based on the old 2ed AD&D ruleset, where Strength didn't go up in solid +1 "increments" in upgrading. I don't know just how familiar you are with the old 2ed ruleset, but Strength above 18 is graded in that weird 0-100 range mechanism I never totally understood myself. You can't add +3 to 18 Str and expect to get 21 in D&D 2ed.
The chart is in the PDF manual for the 2-CD Torment, in any case. Check page 29 for the first appendix:
18
18/01-50
18/51-75
18/76-90
So I think adding +3 to 18 Str puts you right at the 18/76-90 range, and maybe it's roll-based. I've never played with my TNO Str over 16, though.
If you're really not seeing any change in Str, like your inventory weight allowance going up or +hit/damage, then it could be a bug beyond the D&D mechanics. Still, a list of any mods would probably be helpful.
