Which feat/class to take?

Post by Mandalore72 »

I was thinking of playing a Soldier/Guardian 7/13 or Scout/Guardian 5/15 and modeling it after Obi-Wan. Should I take power attack or flurry, Soldier or scout? Any help would be apreatiated

Well I for one consider the soldier class useless. There are only three class skills. Plus, you can only get 2 skill points at each level up. 1 if your intelligence attribute is below 14.

With scouts, you get 3 skill points per level with an intelligence of 14.

Scoundrels get 5 ppl with intelligence at 14.

I would suggest doing a scout/guardian or scoundrel/guardian.

Ignore critical strike. It has a -5 defense penalty even at the master level.

Flurry is the best one out there. You get an extra attack.

Power attack is good too, but you'll do more damage with flurry.

I get the thing about skills, but there aren't any important uses except reapairing HK-47. Why waster points on intelligence and get useless skills when I can put them somewhere else? Persuade is the only useful skill.

I was considering doing a scoundrel/guardian, but I decided not to

+Damage from sneak attack
+4 to defense from Improved Scoundrel's luck
+Skill Points
-x VP
-Fortitude saves
-Base attack bonus
-feats

Well, I made two builds, but I can't decide which one and would like some help making the choice and some improvements.

First off, I'll be going lightside to get mastery and basing my character off Obi-Wan.

Stats:

Strength: 10
Dexterity: 16
Constitution: 12
Intelligence: 8
Wisdom: 15
Charisma: 14

Feats:

Dueling/Two-Weapon Fighting (If Soldier): 1-2-3
Power Attack/Flurry: 2-3
Implants: (1-2-) 3
Tougness: 1-2-3
Jedi Defense: 2-3
Conditioning: 1

Force Powers:

Cure: 1-2
Burst of Speed: 1-2-3
Energy Resistance: 1-2
Stun: 1-2-3
(Stun Droid: 1-2-3)
Force Push: 1-2-3

Gear:

Hands: Advanced Stabilizer Gloves
Head: Spacer Snesors
Implant: Advanced Alarcity Implant
Body: Star Forge Robes
Weapon: Lightsaber Solari/HotG/Upari

Well that's it.

1)I love the new avatar!

2)Are you trying to powergame, or make Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Obi-Wan definitely has a 12+ INT, and has the Force Persuade tree.

I think I'm trying to make a combination of both as it's not possible to make Obi-Wan with only 30 points to spend and 14 force powers. Another thing is that force persuade is useless in K1 and more so in K2. Most of the force persuade options are evil, and I am trying to be good.

Well, I'd suggest doing a Scout/Guardian for Obi-Wan. A Scout/Sentinel makes sense as well. He never had any classes other than Jedi ones, so I'd suggest stopping at level 2 Scout.
