Daedra Sanguine quest help *possible spoiler on another quest*

oye! what a mess. was trying to do the sanguine daedra quest and it all went fubar. i started these late and it was after i completed the thieve's guild quest involving the countess' ring. when i entered the party, the countes was a jo-show for the next 4 days so i suspected something was wrong. i didn't see here anywhere in the castle and after a little reflection realized i hadn't seen her secretary either.
foul play i suspected as she and her party may have met a deadly end on 1 of her pilgrimages to her mum in chorrol, but rather than scouring the road between leyawiin and chorrol for bodies that may or may not even be there anymore, i waited until 2 am, used the secret passage and noticed the count was sleeping alone. after exhaustive research(i'm not tech savvy when it comes to mods or console controls), i found something to add the countess back to the game & did so. worked fine....now the bad part.
with sneak mode, partial camouflage(ring of the khajiit and invisibility potion in hand(i took no chances on being caught lol) i cast the spell etc.....but it wouldn't work on the newly recreated countess!!!! dang! tried over and over. no idea why this wouldn't work, thought about all the possibilities i could and nothing made sense. only other thing i could think of and i have no clue how(i'm thinking that since she was recreated AFTER i had aquired the quest, she wasn't eligible through some game mechanic quest count???) was to restart the quest from scratch somehow now that i have the new countess hoping that the quest count or whatever will reset if i restart it now. any ideas? help? styrofoam bats to my head? give a shout.

You've duplicated the countess, she, as you mentioned, saunters between Chorrol and Leyawiin all of the time, idiotic I know, especially as she only takes her handmaiden and one guard with her. However she can't die, she's set as an essential character and is therefore immortal.

Go back to your save before using the console command is the best course of action.

my save games got messedup/mixed up so no way to undo what i did. as of now i have a duplicated countess, a failed quest and i found the original countess after some searching last night, dead between bravil and chorrol with her secretary and a guard. must have been some fight. found the remains of a will-o-wisp in the mess so there must have been something alse attacking them as well that survived, so she CAN be killed. i read the wiki and they recomend NEVER using the placeatme command which i used to duplicate the countess...oops! lol.

so i don't see any recourse to fixing this or finishing the last daedric quest since A) the original countess was dead anyways & B) the dupe don't work. since i don't have a save other than one from 4 days ago, and i don't want to repeat those 4 days thanx just for the sake of 1 quest. unless there's a way to get rid of the dupe countess, revive the original and then restarting the quest, i'm screwed. but if there is a way, fire it in my direction and keep it simple as i'm not good at mods/console command stuff. wish i was. if i replay this game, i'm going to make sure i do the daedric quest 1st b4 doing the thief one.

roflamo ok update 10 mins after my last post. happened to be in leyawiin when i loaded the game and spotted the countess leaving the castle at 6am on the 24th day of the month. unscheduled visit?. anyways followed her(she was alone and no guard which makes sense since she was already dead along with her retinue) and sure enough, she got killed by a mountain lion roflmao. still chuckling to myself. so now maybe i can do something to restart this quest and get this poor dead X2 countess alive again to finish it lol
