Do you have to play with 6 characters?

Post by Thrifalas »

I've been reading something about you getting lower exp depending on your level, and I was just wondering if that makes a 6 member party far superior to a party with fewer members?

I generally prefer to have 2-4 characters in my party in games such as Baldur's Gate 2, but if you get less exp for being high level then it doesn't really aid me.

So, technically what I'm asking about is; is it possible to play a 2-man party as efficient as you can in BG2? And if not, how worthless is it?

I always play with 4-5 characters, so it's definitly possible. If you have two open slots, you can import two lvl 1 characters when your main team is high level and these newcomers will lower the average party level, hence increasing your XP by a lot.

A party of 2 is possibe. Many players have soloed the game. Like in BG1 your characters will only be about 1 level higher than a party of 6, but with proper micromanaging it shouldn't be too hard, especially since you can always change the difficulty level. Just make sure your characters are powerful enough.
