Multi classing

Post by Suneater »

I did read the guide briefly and will continue to read it but I have some questions now.

I have played Bg1 and 2 as well as the expansions and NWN several times back 5-10 years ago and enjoyed them all. I bought IWD 5-7 years ago but never had time to enjoy it. Now I am starting. I never did multi class because I had always thought it to be a slower way to play the game because the way I saw it you can be a lvl 9 wizard or a 4 wiz / 5 fighter and it just seemed weaker but now I see that everyone does it so it must be the best way to play.

1 :) I read in the guide that switching a rogue to fighter once he reaches lvl 3 is the best way to multi class a rogue into a fighter but what if im level 4 rogue and want to do it?

2 :) Is it to late to start and exactly how does the exp penalty work?

3 :) I went with the pre-made party that has a sorc, fighter, cleric, rogue / monk main, rogue and ranger/ anyone have a friendly suggestion on what would good options for these characters to multi-class into? (they are all lvl 4 atm, the rogue/monk is a 3/4 almost to the bridge in chapter 1)

4 :) If I went with my lvl 4 rogue and stopped at 4 and went fighter would it be a good choice to go with ambidexerity and duel wield specialization? Or stay with daggers?

Thanks for all input and any answers will be very much appreciated.
