Ok so i've read many past posts on this subject and have a few questions.
If I'm leveling a group and exp starts getting lower should I export a character out and import a level 1 character? Will this make the exp jump up?
Im not understnading the whole level squatting concept if someone could quickly explain it to me... I realize you dont actually level your group so If I have a level 6 group in goblin fortress I keep them at 6 and dont go past 6 for as long as possible...But how to do it effectivly?
What is the best method for level squatting and what level do you stop getting exp at the start of HoF mode?
Can a lvl 17 group of 2 get exp at the start of HoF?
Is it better to not lvl past 15-17 at the start of HoF and just wait till chapter 3-4 ?
Level squatting
The dynamic XP calculation is a feature to keep the challenge balanced and eliminate the need of XP farming. Some players don't like this and want to get experience and high level characters much faster than they're supposed to and abuse the fact that you can delay levelling up to get more XP.
What's the best way to use the level squat abuse depends on your party and playing style, I prefer not using this irregular cheese at all.
The most effective way for level squatting is having only one party caster level up and keep the remaining party members as useless level 1 trash who has to hide from enemies with the sole purpose of allowing the caster to level up and gain access to powerful high level spells faster.
With proper level squatting you can easily reach the level cap for the whole party after about one third of normal mode, maybe it will make your game more fun if you won't be able to level up ever again afterwards or have access to extremely powerful high level spells which will take away any challenge.

No one knows what you should do, since no one knows which style is most fun for you.
Some players prefer playing HoF with freshly created level 1 characters for the challenge, some players prefer maxed out characters and some players prefer something in the middle.
The most common method is starting HoF mode with characters imported from the end of the normal game.
