I'm going through the Looneyweird quest in the Heart of Winter at the moment, and I've got a problem concerning the lycanthropy sub-quest.
The guy who sells archery equipment--Emmerich--is a werewolf. I've exposed that fact, but now he won't sell me any equipment. This is a MAJOR problem, since my thief is out of ammo.
The walk-through tells me that the proprietor of the inn (Kieran Nye) will impart some amulet which will cure the bugger of his wolf-fetish, but I simply cannot get that old drunkard to give it to me. Nothing in his conversation touches on lycanthropes, nor does he have anything in his stores that matches that description.
Can someone tell me how to cure the werewolf of his perversions so that I can buy some stinkin' ammo?
HoW Lonelywood Lycanthropy problem
The ammo problem is simply solveable by going to Kuldahar.
Maybe Kieran only allows this conversation if you have been attacked by the werewolf or gathered information about the werewolf encounters before, maybe you need charisma or maybe it's just a bug.
If there's no way to make Emmerich useful again you might consider killing him (it's possible) for his powerful stuff. Your reputation will drop, shop prices will raise and paladins might become fallen however.

Go to kuldahar? is that possible from lonelywood?? I thought the kuldahar map gets cut off once you start the expansion. Otherwise I cant remember but Im sure there is someone else you can get ammo from, try the dwarf in the temple.
As for the amulet, I did get it but cant remember teh exact conversations I had :Z I have a feeling the barman may make it avaialbe after a certain event happens, involving some visitors to the town..

I never did get it to work, so I eventually moved on without completing it.
Cheat codes work great for arrows, I found.
Icewind has too many plot holes for my taste, frankly. There are too many occasions when you need to accomplish something in order to move the plot along, and can't possibly figure it out without the walk-through. I can't imagine how people played the game when it came out, without Game Banshee around to hold their hands.
Give me Baldurs' Gate any day.

IWD is a more combat oriented game and many members here will agree that it has a great atmosphere. I personally found Baldur's Gate tougher than IWD (when I was still new to those games some decade ago) as everything in the latter was pretty straightforward.
You can only return to Kuldahar after completing the (spoiler).
