I have Valdanes blood and have 4/5 relics but for some reason the door to see vartugg won't open Mundruff only offers to trade and when i first come in says we're closed come back next year what am i missing? i know i have the blood and i watched valdane dissappear. is it a bug and is there any way to fix it without starting form an earlier save?

Have you already talked to Vartugg since you got Valdane's blood? Check your quest log to see if you are to take it to the Vale of Ruin (Unholy Arc).

If you are beyond that point (you have "bargained" with Voraatus), then you have to take what relics you have to Talendor before you can receive the password to get passed the stone guardians for the final relic.

If you don't have the quest to take Valdane's blood to the Vale of Ruin, and you aren't beyond that point, then try taking your relics to Talendor, and see if that does it.

i don't have any quests in my log. i haven't talked to Vartugg for the second time it won't let me. i already put the relics in talendor, as i got them.

I remember this happening to me. So you haven't talked to Vartugg since you've gotten the blood? Like, he hasn't sent you on the Holy Arc and Vorattus quest yet? If not, i'm not sure what's going on there..BUT, if you have visited the Tomb of Souls, and returned, and put the four relics into the Chamber, then it must be a bug. What I do, honestly, is 'cheat'. I simply climb the wall down by Warglaw's camp, and hike over to the Maze of Irinthybl. I also do this after I have climbed over to the draedoth, and use the shield relic and the gas mask to fight hag. Then, after you've accquired the ring, you zip to Talendor and continue from there! Just what I do

i havn't been in the tomb of souls. i havn't seen vatugg for the second time i got the quest for the blood and completed it, i got 4/5 relics, i havn't been given the quest for vooratus because it won;t let me talk to vartugg, mundruff won't open the door

My guess, then, would be that turning in the relics is what messed up the game. You are meant to have bargained with Voraatus before even turning in the second relic (once you've turned in 4 relics, Vartugg gives you the quest to go to the black swamp). Having both quests queued for Vartugg to give you (take Valdane's blood to the Vale of Ruin, and go to the black swamp to get the final relic) is probably why you can't get in to see him.

What this means is, you've either got to find a save prior to turning in the fourth relic, or start over.

Also, for future reference, the Shield of Retribution is too useful to turn in before the last possible moment. I'd suggest mountain climbing to get to the final dungeon, rather than getting the password from Vartugg, just to be able to use it in that dungeon.

I agree with Cianoath (however you spell it) that you may have turned in your relics too soon. I cannot agree enough with him about getting the shield of retrobution, though. I do the dungeons in this order: Sargathian, Draedoth, Irynthabl, Tomb of Souls and then Shadow...wierd I know, but it works! Lots o mountain climbing though! And I don't turn in any of the relics until I have to go to the demon realm. Hope that helped!

i went to see him, unsuccessfully, in between getting the 4 relics and turning them in so that can't be it i think the game will just never work because this same thing happened when i first played the game back when i got it

hmmm. no good. All I can say is try doing it my way, unless you find out what to do. It seems to me (I could be way wrong here) that you also had to talk to like, Staroxia or the girl at the Inn before he'd come back. I could be way off track, but it's worth a try!

I've been playing this game LAN with my gf and we've encountered this problem as well. I'm the host and we've not turned in any of the relics besides the horn.

Is this a game play stopping bug or can we really get around it? I'm hesitant about putting more hours into what might be a dead end.
